In ancient precolonial Philippines, “dayang” is a title of a noblewoman, and or a princess. Like Dayang Dayang Pasay, a princess in ancient precolonial Manila which Pasay City in Metro Manila was named after. And Dayang Angkatan (mentioned in the 1,000-year-old Laguna Copperplate, the oldest written dated document in the Philippines)

Alamat's music is totally different. You can't really say it's a pop music because they always incorporate the Philippine culture in it. Their choreo for this song is like a Filipino folk dance hence you'll find it unusual.
