When it comes to unique concepts, Alamat is one of the best. It gives me goosebumps to see how Alamat highlights the fusion of folk and modern. In the MV, dancers performed one of the folk dances, which is the singkil. According to cultural history, this is a very distinctive traditional dance of the Maranao people of the southern Philippines. Originally, Singkil was performed as a ritual for festivals and ceremonial rites of passage by the Maranao prince and princess to define their courtship. As I watch the video, the content is connected to what Singkil means, how the dancers performed it well, and the materials and costumes they used. Overall, the concept is the best. In this MV, we can learn that even if we live in the present, we don't forget to recognize our traditions and culture. I can say ALAMAT is great p-pop, and the way they promote Filipino culture in every song is remarkable! GALINGGGGGG 👏👏👏👏

2 weeks ago, casual lang akong nakikinig sa Alamat starting with this song, pero ngayong ay Magiliw na. Iba't ibang concept and genre kaya kasi nilang gawin with an ode to PH's culture, tradition and folklores. What they did in this MV is "Singkil" It is a Philippines folk dance that is originated by the Maranaos Tribe of Lake Lanao, Mindanao. Singkil performed when there is occassions and usually the female dance it to attract potential suitors and wears heavy rings around her ankles. Together with lead female dancer is her loyal slave who accompanied her through thick and thin. There is also lead male dancer who is holding a shield and sword to determine to rescue the Princess.

As a Filipino muslim, myself, I am truly glad our folk dance is being incorporated in PPop. PPop is still growing and we are always one step closer to reach our first milestone, the PPop rise. What I like about ALAMAT and BINI is that these groups never missed their roots, the music that they are releasing are by a Filipino for Filipinos. Despite having one goal, they serve it uniquely, ALAMAT with our history and BINI with women empowerment, pinoy games and folk dance. I love how Maharani, the song, was told. Taneo, the Prince will always save Jhoanna, Maharani, in their Singkil. However, their dance, will always come to an end, hence, the Maharani leaving at the end. Hindi man ikaw ang Lakan ng Lakambini, ikaw ay di parin nagsasawa.

Because first off, the origin of the folk dance dates back pre-Islamic Philippine era. Second, there are billions of Muslims in this planet and each have their own beautiful culture and traditions.

I'm doing the same thing. I'm disappointed with VIVA. Hindi man lang ipromote nang maayos yung mga batang ito. Magtu-two years na sila, underrated parin. Buti mga vloggers na wala nmn kwenta content, nagbabayad to get viral. Sana they could and would do the same for the boys. Kung hindi kaya ng VIVA, tayo nlng fans magkalat

It justifies that the Philippines is wealthy in cultures and traditions, which have been incredible up to this point. Singkil was a very entertaining dance from the Maranao people and based on the MV, it showcased how the dancers gracefully danced it using the props needed. All in all, the Alamat were very impressive and talented people. Kuddos!

True. Maharani appeals to a lot a casuals in different generation. That's why it trended so quickly after releasing this MV. But for me, ILY ILY is their best song. Vocals, musical arrangement, lyricism and emotional impact. And I'd alway say this: they can slay all different concepts in their MVs, sang in different genres (tho, R&B suits them well), overall ALAMAT's discography is just so good.👌❤️

We really appreciate that you guys listened to the requests of your fans. Thank you for giving Maharani a spotlight, di deserve na maging B-Side lang! Even though Maharani doesn't contain any other languages that you guys usually incorporated to your songs, still 'tunog' and 'tatak' ALAMAT pa din. I wouldn't imagine listening to a modern song that uses words like lakambini, lakan, bathala and maharani. We don't usually uses those words as often now, so to listen to such a beautiful written song and complementing it with traditional movement is such a gratifying experience 😌👏Kudos to Sir Thyro, Jim Amen, Diana Sison and ALAMAT and the whole team behind!!

@@notshizuki yesss, kasi the rest of the album were released last Oct. Tapos ang may mv that time was Aswang, sakto for Halloween. Nauna na yung Say U Love Me and ILY ILY. Yung the rest B-Side na. Since maraming nagandahan, the fans requested for Maharani MV.

Maharani is by far the best song that Alamat has released. I instantly fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. This will be one of my all time fave songs tbh. Never get tired of listening to it, a total eargasm. What makes this song so good is that the beat and melody is euphoric but underneath, the lyrics is actually sad. Love this line from Taneo's verse - "Sa dami ng katunggali, magpupunyagi, Hanggang sa ako'y magwagi, Ngunit kahit magapi ang pagtingin, Dito pa rin maglalagi". Even though you know that you have little chance to be with this person, you never get tired of loving this person and hoping that someday you will be the one that is chosen. The song just hits right in the feels in so many levels. Love the music video's visuals and the aesthetics of the solo face shots. Great concept and storytelling. What I also love is that they went to a realistic ending which made it even better and very relatable. As not really a fan of PPop before, I tell you, Alamat's discography is soo good that this changed my mind. Hoping that many will also realize and discover Alamat the way I did! Crossing my fingers that this song and mv will catapult Alamat to greatness and the success that they really deserve!!! 🙌🙏✨

Everyone's expectations were incredibly high. For me, this MV did not disappoint. I told my friend this had the potential to be their most cinematic MV yet and I'm glad na parang movie talaga. Awesome! So refreshing to see a morena and moreno (Jho and Taneo) be the lead characters in this MV.

Alamat had a unique choreo. Alamat showed and proved that Philippine folk dance or cultural dance like singkil can be used in P-pop choreography. They had creative ways to represent the Filipino culture through their songs, dances, and costume.

ALAMAT for me is part of the 'Big 5' P-pop Groups to be honest. Big 5: SB19, BGYO, BINI, ALAMAT, 1ST.ONE Top 6 and Above: MNL48, VXON, KAIA, 4th Impact, G22, DIONE, YGIG, LITZ, and I guess that's all? btw, kaka-debut lang po ng YGIG so please let's all support them! And for LITZ naman, they haven't been active since last year pa. since after their debut single 'Kidlat' where are they now?😭 Underrated Groups: (Slept On) Press Hit Play(PHP), 6ENSE(kaka-debut lang din nila), and I think that's it? baka may nakalimutan akong P-pop Groups, paki-sabi nalang sa comment.

As an SB19 Fan (A'tin)... I really like ALAMAT's Songs esp. "Maharani & Gayuma". If I would have to pick only 2 PPOP Boy Groups. it would be SB19 & ALAMAT. Both sound "authentic" Filipino Pops. Keep going ALAMAT, someday you will achieve more success just like SB19. They also started at the bottom and work hard to get to the top. PPOP RISE!!!
