What I find the craziest thing about this movie (besides the entire idea of turning people into sea animals and the entire thing with the fascist fish) is the fact that in the end there is still an entire civillisation of intelligent sea creatures, who might even be able to have intelligent offspring and might survive the infighting after Joes demise... But maybe I am thinking all to much about the implications inside of a childrens movie.

I loved thos film as a child except the drowning scene, but I never realised it was Alan rickman who played joe, and I love the aesthetic of using the ships engines gor the songs staging just adds to the feel and the movement emphasised some of the beats of the song

Scariest thing about this movie is that there now exists civilization of fully sentient (if not particularly bright) sea creatures, that can breed (intelligence must be hereditary I guess) and use tools. All hail the Deep Ones of Scandinavia!
