@@dundukas7899 Check out his interview with Usain Bolt. He very clearly doesn’t understand track and field. He might be a recreational runner, but he’s clearly not a running fan.

why does the audience laugh and clap at wierd moments like "you get better as you get more mature don't you?", "did you start getting fan mail from Europe?" Neither of those things should provoke laughter but the Dave Letterman audience laughs a lot. Anyway, I've met this guy and my friends ran with him in HS, he's cool

College sports works like this. 1. You must be an elite athlete first. 2. You go to the college and work your ass off and get good to great coaching and compete. 2. The college makes all the money. So to summarize this for you...does this even need summarizing?

how about running 3:46.91 as a pro? Broke the American Record. I doubt he will ever break the world record. At 25 years old he will never drop another 3.5 seconds. He is just too old to talk about dropping that much. There is a reason why Hicham El Guerrouj is called "the king". Sadly Webb will never break it. I wish he would because I support Americans.

why does david letterman's audience traditionally laugh at the wrong moments. "so you get better in this sport as you get more mature?" "that's the idea" [laughter} there was nothing funny about that situation. dumb audience
@jmcconnor016 жыл бұрын
I think the audience laughed because they could tell in Alan's voice, he was thinking, well yeah you hope you get better but it's possible I have peaked now and it's all downhill from here so...lmao.

I wrote that 2 months ago. I can now run a mile in 3:52, but I'm not doing track this year, because I'm focusing more on baseball
@desertfoxfilms11 жыл бұрын
Man. Alan's fast! And honestly why do people brag about their times on KZfaq? Who cares if your a freshman or a sophomore or a junior or senior and you run so fast for a mile. Unless it's a world record nobody cares. Or a national or state record. There's been plenty of freshman who have run 4:40. There's a freshman at great oak that runs 4:29 and another that ran a 4:38. So it's not that special...
@jmcconnor016 жыл бұрын
For most people it's really not bragging. I mean compared to Alan Webb who here can really brag? It's just a place where Runners gather and like to share their times.
