Yeah man, I think the same! She just doesn't pay much attention to SFIJ lately. It's sad because not only was it a superb album, but it was a #1 chart-topper as well, when it was released. Maybe she just doesn't enjoy that much the record now or doesn't feel represented by it (which I doubt 'cause it was even more mature and spiritual vis à vis JLP). In fact for too many years Alanis neglected much of the songs from it when defining her live set-lists, she barely plays "Thank U" out of it (and that only because it's a must-sing banger!!). What about "Baba" and other SFIJ gems?? I really don't know!! Maybe it's just a commercial strategy of hers, but for me (even though I love the JLP era) the best Alanis Morissette was the spiritual, profound, non-raging almost "zen-like" that came back from her India hiatus in 1998. Actually 1998-1999 were her self-consolidation years in which she gave us some her best ever live performances: the MTV Unplugged, the VH1 Story-tellers miniconcert, her Woodstock '99 show, hee Junkie Tour, and so forth... As you pointed out, it's just a shame she doesn't give herself much credit (lately) for those milestone achievements!! Sorry for my excessive length and my bad English. Fernando Núñez Álvarez Maybe she considers those gems are not crowd pleaser on concerts. I love distinctive song structures on gems like Unsent, The Couch, Front Row. I also love her word choices on her lyrics. SFIJ really put my english to test (in 1998 I was still 11 and I just learned english) (word examples: disillusionment, righteousness, unabashedly, precocious, paranoias, exuberant).
