@Jason Karl Oh it is so unbelievable what is going on right now. I wish we could turn back the clock...these are terrifying times to be alive, but I pray we get through it and come together as a unified nation once and for all. Otherwise, I'm moving to Mars.

The way that the band changed the feel in each chorus was genius. It allowed the song to build unlike the recording which goes in on the first chorus.

You could feel the crowd waiting for this song to bust wide open like it finally did at the end, but it never really reached its full intensity and power.
@jforeman2103 жыл бұрын
I was there and I literally remember feeling exactly that way lol. But at the same time, we were all so hot and dehydrated and tired during the day from all the super high energy bands at night (Korn, limp bizkit, rage, Metallica, megadeath, etc.. and the all night raves (fat boy slim, chemical Brothers, etc..) , that idt we had the energy to move even if she would of went hard 🤣

Interesting arrangement. I love how they brought the original bass groove back near the peak of the song.

The arrangement of this song has really captivated me and I keep coming back to this version because of it. The band did a great job with this performance.
@Trixtah4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think I almost like this version better than the original. Alanis is obviously getting tired at this point, but she's pumping it out and the arrangement is tight
@Jungletrump4 жыл бұрын
TrixM I do like the original as you could feel her angst. She got in your face and the bass made you feel the punches

On the one hand, I wish Taylor Hawkins played drums for Alanis for the rest of her career. On the other hand, I would not witness his prowess in Foo Fighters if he did not leave. But this song really sounds right with Taylor in the fold.

it’s a lot of conversation about the set list before they had the artists perform for those 3 days. i think she mellowed it out cause of the amount of intense music that was being presented to the crowd of about a quarter million of people, the lack of security and i’m sure producers warned her about the bottles being pelted and to kinda keep the crowd calm but enjoy themselves.

Iknow Nuttin listen to the acoustic version from 2005. not angry, more melancholic but still beautiful
@greenpostdoc4 жыл бұрын
@@AlexeBriand2002 Fair enough Alexe. Alanis' acoustic work is amaaazing! But this particular song was born out of a real rage and hence without that type of intensity the lyrics simply lack that gut-punch. Also I think this concert started to show her exhaustion and burnout that prompted Glen Ballard to state that "it (the tour) almost killed her".
