I got 2 Flip 5s because of you, after this now I'm thinking of selling them and getting a Charge 5 lol. Still dubious tho, the stereo separation of the pair of Flips 5 (for example in the transition from Charge to the Flips at 25:24) still sounds best imo, but then again, dat charge bass 😂

I’ve looked online about jbl speaker versions but didn’t find much - I’ve just got 2 x xtreme 3 speakers for festival season camping, what is the script with which one those ones is better, if you’re aware? Also, is there any specific sites / resources for checking these things out in future?

Hy! Nice review! I listen the charge 5 with and without the update, and yes, with update its sound much better, but the flip 5 for its dimension is awesome. So, 2x flip 5 sound much better in real life instead the charge 5. And yes, they are stereo. Good luck! Keep up the good work!

Hey Alan ,I've just compared TL and ND versions of Charge 5 . TL has been my usual goto. But ND has more midbass and slightly less extended highs compared to TL which has seemingly more low bass and not so much mid bass, a bit like Extreme 1 mid bass. I like ND much more. It is also just as musical as TL. My ND is dark green.

Alan i have a question about the bt range of the motion boom. On the anker website it is stated that the motion+ has up to 30 metre range while the boom is supposed to have only 20m. Did you ever felt like the boom had a weaker bt connection? The motion+ does indeed have a great bt range because i work in a big factory and when we are at maintanence my motion+ holds its connection even if i am on the other side of the factory and it is definetly not a small space. Also, in stereo does the second boom matches the eq on the main one or is it lile the motion+ where both speakers never end ip having the same eq while on stereo? Sorry for the bother. I am tempted to try the motion boom despite already having 2 minirig 3s, 2 motion+ and a hk go+play. :D

Hi Alan. How does directional sound compare between the f5 and c5, which one has more of a 360 effect? With the tweeter on the c5 I imagine it's more sensitive to placement?

I got both the Charge 5 and flip 5. Charge 5 is way louder. I would say 60-70% is about as loud or even louder than flip 5. With very clear and deep noticeable bass as well. But all it all boils down to portability and loudest with bass.

Random question, but how far apart do you usually place your speakers when they're paired in true wireless stereo? The reason I ask is because I use two motion boom as my backyard speakers and wasn't sure how far to place them. When I listen to them inside I have them on my kitchen table a little over a foot apart from each other. Is that what you recommend or should they be further

I figured a workaround to connect my Xtreme 1 and Xtreme 3 together, you can use an aux splitter that’s works.

Making reviews on audio in smartphone can be a good idea, think about it, nobody does and there's interest around since a lot of ppl is used to listen audio through earbuds in mobile devices. Now that LG said is going out of games then definitely ppl need some hints before next purchase. Well if you decide to run this way... remind me 😉

I think 🤔 he's the right person who can prescribe the best speaker and headsets for me. I'm really into Bass and bit fussy. I don't have all the technical knowledge. but I know when Bass is good.

Hi there. I don’t really understand the speakers ... but, I’ve had an opportunity to hear charge 4 and I was so impressed with the deep bass.... I am still strugling to decide which one to get.... I want something like charge4 but even better deep bass... please help me choose ... Is charge 5 a lot better than charge 4? I mean the bass ? It would be easier decision for me if I could hear them all jbl’s in person.... it’s a bit difficult to hear how good they sound from the video. Kind regards

Hi Alan, Your Charge 5 sounds much better than one that I had and returned (also TL). Also my red Flip 5 (TL) sounds much better than your red Flip 5. I've listened your comparison with two sets of studio monitors, Yamaha and KRK , with the same result. It seems to me that JBL has really BIG problem with quality control.

I prefer the cleaner sound and superior bass of the Charge 5. Either way, I'm not a fan of JBL products ($$$), so I'll stick with my Motion + speakers.
