Still a good tool. My leatherman signal helped me with a tent pole repair over the weekend 🇺🇸 🇳🇿

If I don't like the thumb stud placement on a knife, then I take it off. Even if I have to use a grinder. I took them off my BM Freek. Who needs a thumb stud on an axis lock? It got in the way of sharpening and stropping since I dropped the angle to 17 degrees. My goal on that knife is to keep it sharp without using a stone, so being able to strop the instant there is a non-perfect spot on the blade is critical. It also means I can't afford to abuse the strop angle, so my stropping technique had to step up. I also took the poorly placed thumb studs off my CS Finn Wolf. I could tell it was going to get in the way on feather sticking and notching at camp, so out it went. I keep one small ammo box for all the stuff I take off of knives, such as the old non-deep carry pocket clips that got upgraded. No original function is truly lost because the small bits don't get misplaced. I've never become heavily invested in my Gerber or Leatherman multitools because I am so comfortable using a thicker SAK (Craftsman). There's no hard to access "inside" area. Once my fingers have memorized the knife, every tool is available within about 3 seconds. Even though most of the tools are thinner and less robust than on a pliers multitool, they are so much more accessible that it feels more effective.

The knife blade has been excellent for me and does not feel bad in the hand. I have used it quite a bit. That's just my opinion.

The boy forgot the word stripper... I think that probably means too much time alone in the woods. Still use my Wave, covers the bases for me. Only thing about the Arc that got my attention was the magnacut just because I've had such good luck with that steel.

I agree. Owned Arc now 4months and I have to say it's fun tool to use, but I also hate that blade shape and I personally have not seen that magnacut being any stronger than steel on my Charge tti+ S30v. After 4 month of use magnacut blade have same amount of chips at the blade as my Charge. Plus Charge feels better on my hand and I work a lot with a zipties where that Charges special cutting hook really shines! Most times when I use my normal blade I first puncture the pack and then slice. Charge main blade has being much better for that kind a use than Arc's bulky/no tip blade. Both are great. Just those little things makes me give a bigger thumb up for Charge. Finnish frontier🇫🇮😊
