I remember being 15, camping in the woods with a friend of mine. I'd never really actively listened to music, only simple stuff like the Beatles and such. He took out his mp3-player with about 15% battery life left, made me listen to this song with the last bit of battery life that was left. I was bought right away, I'd never heard anything like it before. From that moment on, I became an active blues listener, which I still am today.

Hello Albert King fans, I'm playing trumpet in this video. The other guitar player's name is Claude, can't remember his last name. Me, Claude, Frank Dunbar on Bass are all out of St. Louis. Albert lived right across the river in E. St. Louis. This was my first tour with him and I was scared as hell. He yelled a lot at the band on stage, then he would get happy and have us do dance routines with him.

When SRV recorded the solos for the David Bowie album Let's Dance, arranger/bandleader/rhythm guitarist Nile Rodgers started out saying to Bowie "David I don't get it... we could just get the REAL Albert King if you want..." but by the end of the sessions he was convinced of SRV's other great qualities. Most of SRV's solos on that record are indeed very Kingy.

No because in the 60s he used three guitars in rotation or when he felt like it i guess, the first one was his original Lucy(1958 flying v) then the second one is the dark cherry 1966 flying V with the vibrola arm and i think he had another 66/67 flying v that was sunburst(static.flickr.com/43/177947030_94b897245d_o.jpg) but ive only seen a picture if him using it. Here are examples of the guitars he used in the 60s:www.mcquain.com/lespaul/favorites/Blues/AKsFlyingVsFRONTS.jpg (Except the walnut v in the middle) and my real question was when he saw Albert do you remember which one of these V's he was using when you saw him.
