Alberta Premier Danielle Smith speaks with reporters about her government's legislation aimed at protecting residents from sudden spikes in electricity prices. She is joined at the news conference in Edmonton by Utilities Minister Nathan Neudorf and his parliamentary secretary Chantelle de Jonge.
Premier Smith is also asked about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's recent comments in response to a letter from Canada's premiers about the federal budget and their concerns about federal overreach. Her government has introduced a bill that seeks to prevent municipalities from signing funding agreements with the federal government without provincial approval.
