The engine has been completely renewed with new old parts at kristinehamn by former Albin factory..Now works perfectly for the next 50 years! We use the boat daily since 1978 in summer for commuting, fishing, small trips.
Boat was made in Söderköping area in the 50's but I have no information regarding boatyard / builder unfortunately (if anyone has clues..?). The smooth wake seen at the end is showing how a neatly designed hull will just displace water without creating cavitation or disturbance, and pretty hypnotic to watch! (Propeller is brass 3 blades)
There is many boats like this ( called Snipa in swedish) for sale in the swedish list sites, for a range of 3-6 K € with engines, because no one seems to want to care for them anymore.
Since this video was taken in 2013, we have undergone much work: cleaning of the tar inside the boat ( in favor of linseed oil), cleaning the bottom that showed much weakness in the keel that lead us to glass the underside. The budget for keel replacement beeing unsustainable, same goes with the few broken ribs near the motor.
Winter 2017-18: the boat has seen more change: replacing of the 041 control panel for a 021 control panel, refurb of the propeller shaft brass rings ( there was too much play and vibrations), rework on the magneto that is sensible to heat changes.
Winter 2018-19: removing all the tar/dirt inside replaced by linseed oil
Winter 2019-20: will see the work on the outside varnish that will be totally redone, + rebuilding the bow seat ( that hold the gas tank).
