This album is a masterpiece. I first listened to it at 1 am alone in my bed in the dark and I got disconnected from reality. Like I literally got so lost in the music that at certain points I suddenly realized I didn't know when or where I was lol. It was like I was on some distant ethereal plain of existence with just Lana and the music. 🖤

Upon my first listen of ‘White Dress’ I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about it in all honesty simply for the “men in the music business conference” part feeling so rushed sonically, but I read in her Music Week interview that she said the song happened by chance, Jack Antonoff was playing some piano chords and she stepped up to the mic and improvised the whole song which is pretty cool I think, especially when the only modifications they made to it were layered vocals🤟🏽 Made me appreciate the song much more!

It's criminal that she hasn't won a Grammy. The award shows have to either be rigged, or the artist buys their wins because it doesn't make sense. How many Grammy's can you give out to Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish in 1 show? Norman Fucking Rockwell was critically acclaimed, higher than any other Album Of The Year and still lost. Chemtrails is already on par with critic album reviews so It should ge tnominated again, but I'm sure Taylor Swift will take it for Evermore if it qualifies. I don't understand why she gets shut down, her cultural impact is far more superior to any award anyways.

I think that next to the burden of fame, the second overarching narrative of the album, which is strongly related to the first one, is longing for normality and simple life. It can be seen in many tracks, especially in Chemtrails over the Country Club, White Dress, Tulsa Jesus Freak, even Yosemite and Not All Who Wander Are Lost. Also, in Let Me Love You Like a Woman she mentions being ready to leave LA, which can also be related to quitting showbusiness. I think thematically it is very coherent album.

Im glad you pointed out the 90's alt rock vibe on 'Dark but just a game' cause it reminded me of Incubus a little bit.

I am LIVING for your reaction to White Dress. It’s my favorite off the album and goddamn, her vocals in this were INSANE.
