I didn’t wait for bottom either, just have to admit you are an addict and do something about it. I started by committing to 30 days, then 90, then a year, now I am at 13 months and I am shooting for 2021.

I'm 32 also, and been drinking heavy since I was 16. Thinking about it now, I must of had a problem with it soon after my first drink. Majority of the time has been drinking alone, which turns into alcoholism. And the shocking thing is, couldn't say I've ever really enjoyed alcohol. Tastes like shit!. And that breathalyser in the car is a brilliant idea for alcoholics!.

Alcohol addiction comes about when a certain chemical in the brain of an Alcoholic is not able to process.. it's the chemicals job to break Alcohol down.. a person with this condition is almost always a problem drinker or worse an Alcoholic.. the drunkard is looked down upon by all of society.. but now we know those poor Bastard were not to blame.. isn't that wonderful It is for me.. I was a terrible Alcoholic Now I'm happy and sober going on 7 years.. If you find that Alcohol may be causing discord Get help..no excuses,, it's hard at first and we fail a lot but gradually most of us get it.. Life is Good...

Man you couldn’t be more right. I had to reach a low bottom before realizing I needed major help. Alcohol took over my life, allowing me to destroy the few wonderful relationships I had. I’ll be two years sober Nov. 3rd. The road was super rough at first, but life has taken a turn. Congrats on 7 years! What a wonderful milestone! Thanks for watching!

I need to stop drinking… even after trying an at home detox, going to some AA meetings (where I cry throughout), trying The Sinclair method prescription etc I’m trying to convince myself I can control it and I’m not really an alcoholic because I don’t have withdrawals or drink all day. My boyfriend says I don’t need to go to AA doesn’t want me to go he says we can control my drinking ourselves. He doesn’t drink much but think he want us still to be able to enjoy occasional drinks on some weekends together so if I went to AA we wouldn’t be able to do that or maybe he doesn’t want to be with someone labelled an alcoholic. I hate myself as a person when I’m drunk but I love the feeling, one is never enough and to drink until I pass out to sleep. I don’t want to be a drunk I can be quite mean and say things I don’t mean. Never really really bad but I have been quite hurtful and regret it the next day. I can’t imagine living a life without ever having a drink or telling everyone I’m an alcoholic. I’m so sad
@TellYourStory
@TellYourStory 2 жыл бұрын
It’s funny, cause when I started thinking about getting sober, most of my friends were like “do you get the shakes” “You don’t drink every day. You’re not an alcoholic.” It’s not up to them. If you have any inclination that alcohol is making you feel bad, angry, stressed..those are signs that you might drink too much. It’s not up to others. If you don’t want to drink, then make the decision to stop. When I decided to stop drinking the people that loved me the most respected that decision. Getting sober, or even drinking less, is a healthy and honest decision. So make that decision for your self. The hard part is sticking to it. This takes time and discipline. Everything else is just a symptom of sobriety. I.E. happiness, better sleep, less anxiety, better relationships. You can do this! Distance your self from negative things and people. Set healthy boundaries with the ones you love, and go for it! Keep moving forward!!

@@TellYourStory Thankyou so much for replying it means a lot as I’m feeling lost right now as over thinking. I’m going to try drinking less for now staying sober during the week maybe just once at the weekend or alternate weekends.

@@TellYourStory I’ve been drinking since 21 and I’m just turning 25 soon. I’ve drank occasionally early on, it wasn’t up until I was 23 during COVID. I would drink heavily and I would buy 1.75 l bottles frequently and would drink them relatively fast. I’ve just recently slowed down my drinking because I’m afraid of my health. I’m afraid if I’ve damaged my liver or pancreas.

This guy wasn't a real alcoholic... Anyone knows that any true alcoholic (unless they're a closet drinker) they've had their ass beat and jumped a few times while drunk, and any alcoholic has had DUIs... This guy's story sounds so melancholy compared to my story... Been jumped and put in a coma for 4 days in ICU, had 3 DUIs, been in the hospital for alcohol DT seizures probably 20 times... interview me if you want a real alcoholic story

@@TellYourStory i didn't mean to come off as a prick, it's just your whole story seems like you're just the guy that played beer pong a little too much in college but if you're story doesn't involve truly destroying your life and almost dying from seizures coming off of it then i just can't consider it a really serious alcohol problem... Now i do think since your story is kinda soft that it should be shown in schools to help young kids from getting caught up in the drinking scene in college
