I like Alcorn and been watching them since 2014 because i told everyone they was the New Come up band and they proved me right, BUT, I'm Sorry, Alcorn should have just rolled off and marched to their Band room After Southern blew that Weekend back at them.. that was the knife in their heart. and they made it worse by playing Glow after that..

When you say "the best band in the land", you mean the swac right?.. if not, You should listen to more bands. :-) well over 5,000 colleges in this country..... there are high schools in this country with 800 plus members that can play "loud"...

LaBrian Woodyard it's not to much the arrangements but they have no balance... Every section wants to be louder than the other, and the baritones just covers up every other section and not in a good way..

This was as one sided as it gets. SU was better in every regard(balance, tone, pitch, volume, intonation). I'm a little surprised with Alcorn's performance. I think they put up a better fight in 2015 and 2016. They were just all over the place in this one. Balance was non existent and execution of most arrangements were sloppy. Alcorn has too much potential to sound like this.

DTex I didn't get it. I wasn't sitting the right position to get a good sound from both bands so I didn't record it. I was sitting to the side of Alcorn and that wouldn't have given me a good recording of them.

SU Committed Another Murder! That"WEEKEND" battle is why FAMU stay playing songs from the 70's, Especially vs SU. They know if they dare venture outside of the 70's they run a high risk of playing a song that's ON THE JUKEBOX playlist. And FAMU knows They Will Be Exposed as the traditional frauds that they are, A Band That's Surviving On Their Reputation Of The Pass! They are no better than Grambling in that way. Actually They're Worst Than Grambling In That Way!

No slight on any females, but if you make it in SU band then you EARNED it. Summer practice has to be the most vigorous and difficult thing i've ever done. From Sun up to after midnight, it's practice practice practice in the 100 degree + heat. It's no joke.
