Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser has been cloned by ALDI how do they compare to each other. Lets find out. At £60 cheaper than the Hotel Chocolat version, have ALDI made a good or better version of hot chocolate maker?

Thank you all so much for such a great response! I ordered the NEW Aldi Hot Chocolate Maker as the latest model has some differences, in four days I should have received it. Just like this video I paid for it with my OWN money and not an influenced review. Unbiased and as I see it is how you see it, Thank you all again. :)

I think if you put the same amount of milk in both of them instead of filling both to the max line it would be a better comparison, everyone knows that less milk makes more froth when using a milk frother. but great comparison in general I'm very happy with the aldi one just because it's not 5 times worse :P
@jazzzsm6546 Жыл бұрын
The reason for the slight colour change with the aldi one and less froth is probably because the aldi product volume is bigger uses more milk so you would have to adjust the amount of coffee or chocolate you put in if comparing the two side by side but good review

I don’t think the velvetiser is absolutely necessary as any decent milk frother with a whisk attachment and a hot milk setting will give you a very similar result if not identical with regard the dulait milk frother. What I would say is you definitely need to give the hotel chocolat hot chocolate selection a try as they are some of the most decadent hot chocolates available. Saying this there is some really good quality artisan hot chocolate producers about such as Cosey Chocolate company, Kokoa Collection Hot Chocolate and Pendragon Hot chocolate flakes selection. Even Whittard Co produce some really good hot chocolate powders with some really good flavours including Turkish Delight, spiced plum Christmas hot chocolate, Raspberry ripple and Rhubarb and Custard white hot chocolate. All these work really well in any milk frother and ever the velvetiser

@@joffhall81 I use almond milk and the frothy part isn't as essential to me as the ease of use. I do love a hot chocolate but it's a messy business preparing one just right. I also love that the velvetiser is by dualit and I own a few of their products so I know it is reliable. Thanks for the heads up on the hotel chocolat hot choc sachets. I'm already a fan and buyer of them, especially the hazelnut ones. I was so excited to try the mint ones but they were disappointing. I am going to try the hotel chocolat biscuits over Christmas. A nice touch of decadence :-)

Hi can I ask what’s the best hot chocolate machen you can get would you go with this one or the tasamo iv seen you done review on that to thanks in advance
@CharlieFlemingOriginal3 жыл бұрын
I have done several videos about Tassimo and I would NOT recommend them any more. For a long time it seems to be slipping out of favour, and Kraft who own it by name only (only Bosch make the machines), Kraft sold off nearly all the coffee brands in 2019. My Mam & Dad have a Dolche Gusto which sees good and the pods are cheaper than tassimo and a better range. Friends have Nespresso which they all seem happy with and has an even bigger range. I am not a huge fan of pod machines as they are expensive and the Tassimo is not even close to good at making Hot Chocolate as the Velvetiser or Aldi machine.

I got my velvetiser for £85 (they were doing £15 off, I think they usually always have some form of discount though) In my case I also got 2 pod cups (worth £15) and a starter pack (I think worth about £15?) so if you actually think about it if the Aldi one included those it would be £70 which makes it only £15 cheaper than the hotel chocolat one. I believe hotel chocolat have put the velvetiser price up since I bought it in July and I don’t think you get as much included? So I don’t know if my comparison is still valid!! Also really glad you did this video as I’d heard of the Aldi one and was really curious to see how it performed :)

I was wondering about this Aldi hot chocolate maker and after seeing your review I’m glad I missed out. It seems the Aldi one is just a variation of their milk frother with a hotter setting on function one rather than having a heavy froth and a heated milk function. I’ve used a hotel chocolat velvetiser and a dulait milk frother and the are very similar. The dulait milk frother has three frothing settings (hot froth, cold froth and hot milk) but you get an identical hot chocolate from the hot milk setting on the dulait milk frother compared to the velvetiser. My conclusion is that the velvetiser is nothing more than a dulait milk frother with cut down features and branded for hotel chocolat to charge over triple the price. Either way though you do get a decent hot chocolate especially with hotel chocolat hot chocolate flakes.
@adzadzy3 жыл бұрын
can you put a cadbury flake in the dualit milk frother? i know you can with the velvetiser, but i would like to know if you can with the dualit one coz its half the price!
@joffhall813 жыл бұрын
@@adzadzy yea I’ve done it but just make sure you break it up well and there is no big lumps before using it. You need to be on the heated milk setting (red flashing light) and add the broken up flake after about 20 seconds and you should be all good. You may get a little bit of residue at the bottom with the flake as Cadbury chocolate has less cocoa solids and more cocoa butter/fat than hotel chocolat hot chocolate.
@adzadzy3 жыл бұрын
@@joffhall81 thats great news, i ordered one right now! Can you use any bars as long as you break it into small flake like pieces? Thankyou
@joffhall813 жыл бұрын
@@adzadzy anything as long as it’s chocolate and nothing else. You couldn’t add something like a double decker, Mars or Snickers as there is other things will damage your machine. I’ve used flakes, Cadbury dairy milk bars, galaxy ripples, twirls and Terry’s Chocolate orange and all work fine but just be wary of a little residue at the bottom but it’s not too bad and easy to clean off. I tend to use a lot of powdered hot chocolate which works fine and also chocolate chips but use the dark ones as the milk chocolate chips are far too sweet and like drinking a cup of sweet milk. With the chocolate chips you need about 1/4 of a cup measure heaped (about 35g) and allow the milk it heat for 20-30 seconds. Then you slowly add the chocolate chips over the next 30-40 seconds and put the lid on and let the Dulait do it’s thing. The chocolate chips I tend to use are Callebaut Belgian chocolate chips as these are really good quality and can be used for other things like hot chocolate. Hope this helps Joff 👍👍

@@joffhall81 thanks alot joff, very helpful and appreciated, i will try a variety, I understand about not using the snickers and double deckers etc, cant wait to try 👍 thanks again

The nonstick isn't great on either of them, you have to atleast add water immediately with washing up liquid. The HC one is slightly easier as the Aldi one has a stub in the bottom making cleaning a little harder.

The Hotel Chocolate Velvetiser is purely a milk frother and WELL over priced. I bought a quality milk frother/ velvetiser from Asda and was praised through a media review. I didn't pay £100 or £40, but just £25 and it works a treat !
