I have the IKEA one not the exact one but all you have to do to the ALDI one is stain it with watered down antique wax from Walmart, in the craft section, it’s the bomb!And if you need shine spray it with the Krylon shiny stuff Bam Bam Bam you got yourself an IKEA $89 They will never know PS: I love you so much you’re such a friend of my head.. Aldi employee here, don't go around saying corporate needs to change things when it comes to cashiers doing more than just cashiering because no, they don't. The reason they pay us $16.50 an hour is because we EARN it by doing more than just sitting down and scanning ppls items for 8 hours. The less employees a company has, the more they can afford to pay their employees a livable wage. Aldi has no more than 3 or 4 employees and 1 shift manager on shift at a time and literally everything is done by those 3 or 4 employees. I also worked at Walmart for a couple of years and they only paid $12.50 an hour. There was never less than 50 ppl on 1st and 2nd shift, a team lead and coach for every department and literally nothing ever got done. 3rd shift stockers, on the other hand, make $15.50 an hour and there's 15-20 of them and they do 10 hour shifts. Moral of the story- Companies who pay their employees a liveable wage and wages that are reflective of the hard work they do, are much more likely to have happy hardworking employees who actually WANT to come to work and do their best.

I was just in Aldi today and the aisle with the "finds" was too crowded to go down so I bypassed it. I love the smaller Aldi light..that Ikea one is too big, even though I'm an Ikea person, that light is too big for what I would need it for. If the Aldi one gives splinters, could always spray it with clear gloss paint to help that. Thanks for another great video.

We went to the local Aldi store this morning to pick up the terra cotta bowl. None could be found. Late this afternoon we found it on instacart at the Aldi store. Within 2 hours it was on our front porch. The wife loves it! Thanks for the heads up.

You could easily get that warmth and gloss on the Aldi light. Get some stain in light oak or light walnut, you might need to lighten it some by mixing a little stain with mineral spirits, thinner, or water depending on the type of stain you get. You can also lighten it after it's applied with mineral spirits. Once you have the desired warmth you want and it's completely dried spray it with a semi gloss or gloss sealer.

If Gloss is your favorite finish you can purchase a can of clear gloss spray paint from most big box stores & it will look the same. I've spray paint several IKEA bamboo lights in both sizes & they still look great. We used white, baby pink, pale yellow * be sure to do several light coats * & cover everything up you don't want to paint.

Easter eggs in your bowl, Christmas balls, pine cones and twigs, apples and oranges and bananas!!! So many things to put in your bowl! LOVE it! If you want the glossiness on your lamp, just go get a spray can of clear coat and spray it! It will look identical! Such a fun video.

I just went to an Aldi that I have never been to before and I could not believe my eyes when I saw the covered baking dish they had two of the beige and also a purple one. They were on clearance for $5.25! I thought it was too good to be true but sure enough it rang up at $5.25. I can’t wait to bake something in it!

The Aldi lamp just needs a spray of clear coat. Really pretty. Designers using for bedside hanging table lamps. "They don't clutter the space" Designer talk!!! ha ha On the box it showed a cord switch I thought. Bowl is so pretty. Vivian you have flower pots made out of terracotta? Very durable material. That terracotta bowl would look fabulous with clear, glass globes/balls. Maybe graduated sizes. Maybe different colors of balls. It could be used all year. Changed up for the seasons/holidays.

That throw would be great for using when you travel..it's small and lightweight and can fold down into your carryon luggage. It can be used as a blanket, pillow, seat cover, etc.

Vivian it is the same product but they change the name on it. I worked at a place that made sports ware. They would make shirts with the Nike logo that sold for $40. Once they finished that order they would take the same shirt and put a Walmart tag on it and sell it for $10. Same product but the brand name dictates the price.

Great segment, Vivian (also my daughter’s name.😍) Seems like you could paint the outside of the pendant with the regular (not matte) mod podge to get that glossy look. I would think it wouldn’t take long and it would give you the same look. For your actual light, you could get one of those stick on, remote controlled puck lights off of Amazon. You could stick it right onto the metal part. Depending on how bright you want it to be, it could work and save you the aggravation and cost of hiring an electrician. And I didn’t know about how coveted those terra-cotta bowls or the Crofton casserole dishes are! I saw the casseroles, but I didn’t realize what I was looking at in terms of quality. Wow! 😮Thanks…🙏🏾

Wiring in a lamp into existing electrical is easy. Also, you could take the Aldi light and spray a sealer on it for the glossy look.

Those pendant lights look good over a bar/counter. If you’ve got a breakfast nook area you could hang it from there. It would look good if you have a screened in or enclosed porch. There are so many things you can do with pendant lights.

The terra cotta bowl is the same material as clay pots. It is indeed delicate and porous. The lamp would be easy enough to make shiny. Just coat it with mineral oil. It’s safe and non toxic. I want that throw but have so many now I can’t justify it. Great to see you

You can spray the Aldi light with a lacquer or hair spray, and that would make it shiney and it won't produce splinters! ❤️
