As a black person all I can say after I read many of the comments below is that many black people (mostly men, is it a coincidence?) have learned absoluletly nothing with the history of racism and discrimination. Being black should make us suspicious of all the ways peolpe are constituted as different and how this creates and justifies unequalities. Let us just remember that race was once used for such a political purpose and gender and sexuality still are. I feel utterly embarrassed to see so much hate speach coming from black people.

L Thom Every portrayal of an African American does not have to represent someone you know, the purpose of this show is for the individuals to express themselves via dancing to a large audience via tv. Even if you expect portrayals of African Americans to represent them, these individuals do represent the flamboyant blacks, is their representation less valid than that of the "straight black male". For some reason people who are living in sin or have a sinful nature, condemn those that are gay as if their sin is so much greater than theirs. Sin is sin and no sin is greater than the other. I look at it as no i do not agree with any one's sin, not even my own, but these guys have parents. Meaning these are somebody's children... Look at your own children and ask God to make the crooked things straight so we can have a better world and then you look at the man in the mirror.

Some are just comfortable living in sin and some are still in darkness. All I can do is pray and ask God to show them just like he shows me. See living Christ like means you have to purge yourself daily of unclean things... It might be lustful thoughts, or having anger in your heart... Maybe depression. These are all things that distract us from keeping our focus on Christ even if it is just for a second. God is a forgiving God and HE loves all of us ... But HE don't love the sinful nature in us. I don't hate anyone... But know I will not cosign your sin! If you ever see me falling, speak HIS word into my life.

Living in sin is a choice. Those that practice homosexuality choose to live in sin..you can't compare that to folks who try to live righteously. I support this to the fullest and can't wait to watch the full episode. PEOPLE spread love and stop the hate regardless of your persona,l religious, or cultural beliefs its not right to hate people for being different. i was in the marines and the navy and i am use to criticism, sometimes it hurts, so i try to stay away from negative people, when i fill uncomfortable, i go into battle mode, and on the defence, when i'm in that mode, i have no fear. people hate us because we are black, but when black people hate us because of who we are, they are no better than the bigots themselves
