This transcends time

Up on moon mountain, tucked away in the forest. She waits by the fire. There's a door at the end of the hall. Silence, subdued crackling of burning wood in front of her. Hot tea in hand. Fresh bread on the wooden counter. Raw honey spread neatly over. Flames in her eyes. She gets up, grabs a small flask from the mantle. Unscrews the cap, winces at the bittersweet spirits, and waiting. Flames in her eyes. Just like they've always been there. Maybe... She grabs more wood, and tosses it into the fire non-chalantly. The door at the end of the hall opens, a petite long raven-haired gal walks through. More fire, she takes out a small pistol from around her lower back. She keeps it tucked underneath her belt. Removes the round in the chamber, and sets the gun on the counter next to the bread. "How are things?" "They could be better, I made the bread over there, fresh honey." "Okay." Now both of them waiting by the fire. Flames in their eyes. What else would they be up to, if not good, but no good. It stands to reason. Does it? Doesn't it? Two poets, outcasts of modernity. The calendar's empty. Fill it with nonsense, after awhile it'll seem like it amounts to something important. Except to them, sitting in silence up on moon mountain.
