In this video I take a weekend away to the New Forest trying to beat the kids breaking up from school. It seems okay at first but doesn't all go to plan.
I stay at Aldridge Hill, one of the Camping in the New Forest sites, where the wildlife just roams freely.

Join me and my motorhome, Bentley, as I travel around the UK and explore some, hopefully, fascinating places. I love castles, coast, countryside, hillforts and just being out and about.
Bentley is my first van, a 2010 Bessacarr E540 motorhome. Bought in December 2019 it had done only 16,000 miles and is in immaculate condition. I intend to add a few more miles and I hope you can follow me on my journey.

Never seen roaming cows in the New Forest before. Definitely looked squashy there and Karl said he'd be leaving too. Least at Setthorns there's no loos so it deters people. The horses looked beautiful and loved the deer photos.

Everything roams down there! I should have looked back behind the van in the morning. Just out of shot was another town set up. I wrote asking what their policy on groups is. No reply! Very happy to catch some deer from afar as there wasn't a great deal else about. Take care Helen & Karl

That looks a lovely place to go - during term time. 😂 Looks like you were there at the start of the summer holidays, hence the invasion. My sister lives on the edge of the New Forest so this would be good for us to go when visiting. Thank you for sharing. Take care, Suzie and Alan.

@harrythehymersholidays Thanks for watching. Yes I didn't realise Hampshire hols were slightly earlier than Wiltshire, where I am. I think the best one I have been to is Roundhill although that was term time. Take care, Martin

40 quid a night! Bloody hell! We stayed at Black Knowl once a few yrs ago on the way to the Isle of Wight! Yep! We've had people thinking it's OK to strum a guitar in the middle of the night! And crying babies!!! Arrrgggghhhhh!!!!🙉 Glad you've got some subs! Cheers Martin! Ju 😁

And I'm a member too, although don't think I use many of Caravan Club sites, so might re-think that. People just seem to think they are on holiday so all normal etiquette is thrown out! Thanks for watching Ju.

@blakes4ontour Well that's interesting. I find that I can get really good discounts with the Camping & Caravanning Club. Discount for member, discount for 60+, discount for grass only. Have paid just over £7 per night several times 😁

@@BentleyOnTour we tried to renew it with them just after covid but could never get through or do it online. So we didn't bother in the end! Have noticed that a lot of campsites have put their prices up though and are being a bit greedy!
