Rule #1 in gun safety: Treat and act like every gun as loaded, NO MATTER WHAT.

Prop gun? I heard they were using this gun for target practice on set by stagehands then was supposed to load it with blanks, that's not a "prop" gun. Who's responsible for checking for the blanks? Who's responsible for not pointing a gun at someone's head before pulling the trigger? Is the court supposed to believe anything a defendant says when he says he didn't pull the trigger of a gun that blows the head off the person he is pointing it at?...The family of this poor lady deserves honest answers...

When the "prop" gun" is a real firearm then you need to treat it like a firearm......

One thing I've heard about gun safety is that whenever you're handed a weapon is to check if it's loaded no matter who hands it to you and what they say. Idk if it is enough to convict, but that negligence led to a death.

The producers, including Baldwin, chose to employ an inexperienced armourer and an AD with a somewhat sketchy reputation. There is a lot else that was wrong on this set and they did NOT correct many issues including red flag incidents with the ammunition. I know no one who would conduct any production in the lax and irresponsible way they did. It is almost unheard of that crew leave a production, but having voiced their concerns multiple times, several crew members felt obliged to leave the production over safety issues including the handling of guns and ammunition.

If it were any normal person they would be liable period!

Baldwin argues that the armorer should be solely responsible, but as co-producer he is responsible for the hiring and competency of his staff. So, if he argues that the armorer was too inexperienced, it begs the question as to why the armorer was hired.

A real gun used as a prop is NOT a prop gun

Bad tittle,and pathetic defence of Baldwin. Firstly, a mistake can still be a crime,should of been tittled "intentional or unintentional?" Secondly, there are very strict rules on movie sets on the use of weapons,and Baldwin is responsible at least 3 counts,as he is the Producer, Director and actor who handled the gun,look up the rules which were clearly ignored and let's not forget the original staff were sacked by Baldwin because they raised safety concerns which were ignored. Don't know who the clown on the left is,but this subject is clearly not something he is knowledgeable of and couldn't of been more misleading to the audience.

So apparently the crew/staff whatev went out the night before and were shooting at bottles and cans with live round with these guns. Then Alec decides to be funny and say he will shoot the cinematographer and points the gun and pulls the trigger, and it still happened to be loaded with live rounds. Fails all around. Be he is still in charge, and thus dually responsible

Alec wasn't well versed in quickly drawing a SAO revolver from under arm carry and cocking the hammer. Through severe negligence a live round made it into that gun. He likely drew the gun with his finger on the trigger and cocked the hammer causing it to fire when the hammer was released. That makes him criminally negligent for not controlling the direction his gun was pointing. My question is why did half the crew walk off the set that morning? Did some disgruntled crew member put a live round in the box of dummies for revenge?

And that is how Brandon Lee got killed on set for The Crow. Somebody "accidentally" replaced a prop gun with a real loaded gun. How exactly is that even possible?

Involuntary manslaughter is actually causing someone's death accidentally. Baldwin hiring an inexperienced armorer and giving her to many other responsibilities to distract her was definitely a direct cause for her distraction. Baldwin lied about pulling the trigger and didn't check all the blanks. Another shortcut! Baldwin pulled that trigger regardless and is the definition of unvoluntary manslaughter. He's guilty.

Gun safety rule #1, treat every gun as if it is loaded. Gun rule #2, a gun is only unloaded if you verify it is unloaded yourself. Fact of life, you alone are responsible for your actions and ending someone's life, even by accident, is a crime called involuntary manslaughter and he should be held accountable for his actions. Ordinary individuals, not famous, would be convicted and imprisoned 99% of the time in a situation like this.

Later in the video, LeFleur can be seen telling Baldwin not to speak to the other potential witnesses, but Baldwin repeatedly does.

Look Alec is the boss on that TV set and that gun was in his hand when it went off and guess what he would be saying if it was his family member he would be trying to put that person in the same position in prison bet that

For prop guns, they should only use replica guns that can only shoots blanks. No live ammo should have been around in the set. Out of respect, the movie should be trashed.

Incompetence/Ignorance isn't a criminal defense.

You can see that you need to work on finding your groove together, but this has been the best chemistry so far. If you're a gun owner and you say you would treat a prop weapon differently then you shouldn't own a gun because YOU aren't a responsible person. On a side note, if you can't hold a producer responsible for the safety on the set, why would you hold a gun manufacturer or an auto manufacturer responsible for deaths? This sets a bad precedent...

I saw a movie with Baldwin in 1980....I could see he was not a good person then I'm 64. Never watched another movie with him and I never will. I'm so glad that I never saw Alec Baldwin again....!!!!!

so if you brought your car to a shop to have the brakes fixed and after you pick it up you drive down the street and at a busy intersection you see the light is red and you step on the brakes but there are none and you run some one down killing them is it your fault? the answer is yes, you can blame the shop but in the end you got in the car and drove it and will be convicted for vehicular homicide.
