@@NotSeriousGamer I absolutely agree, Both Alec's and Lindsey's lyrics are completely different scenarios and stories. They are not the same and they do not convey two sides of the same story but rather two different stories entirely. I hope people don't get it confused.

Alec wrote the song After his girlfriend cheated on him. So who gives a F*ck about Her perspective? No one can justify cheating, the perspective of the cheater is therefore irrelevant. However, she sings very good and the lyrics are good if it was another story instead of an "answer" on Alec.

Same it woke my heart because it something I been wanting to tell my ex partner since I heard this song but there almost zone communication and with him having temporary custody of our son co-parenting with communication is important for the child..and he is being selfish and letting his parents and mother do everything for him...he not being honest and he really doesn't know me ..I never wanted him to be lonely but he let me down..

Pain. This is more of a plain rewrite with a different message and story than "her perspective". Because I've seen a lot of "ugh women" comment, I wanna say that I'm a woman (who acknowledges that humans have their struggles gender aside) and while the song is sad and the voice is beautiful it almost sours the original due to it being labelled as "her perspective". "Like who are you trying to persuade" When the song is purely about him asking her that if she has to leave to leave him "slowly" gently, there's no persuasion. The entire chorus feels like it referring an entirely different event. Talking about him not knowing her, broken promises, and trust that was lost when nothing in the original lyrics "from his perspective" even hint at that. "It's not my fault you're being honest, now." ??? I can't even begin to understand where this came from. I love rewrite, especially ones from different perspectives (Friends is an amazing example with the perspective of the guy, that was interesting too), but I can't help but feel a little- hurt? When all of Alec's songs are sweet or melancholic, and this, instead of building off of what could have been her perspective but the same story (Like what Alessia Cara's part added with adding her own pain in letting their relationship go and missing it as well but knowing it had to happen), it feels like an insult kind of? Again still a good rewrite of the lyrics, just not for "her perspective", but it's own story.

@@Justhere377 Men can be victims too and I am not, in any way, denying that. I agree with you completely on that fact but criticizing her for making content makes no sense. If you really do want to change something about the society we live in, how about you encourage men and songs that empower them rather than discouraging content creators here. I believe the original creator of the song would be sensible enough to understand that this creator did not have any intention to demean them or insult their work.. instead they are putting out in the world an alternate version such that this would be applicable in either situation. From one perspective this song would end up making the other one even more popular. As for the songs where women are victimized, we give you full freedom to make parodies of those songs such that men get to voice out their struggles as well... Everything is only as good as your mindset.. pls take this song positively... (Your taking it negatively doesn't change anything either way... Let's try encouraging people and spreading positivity in a world that at times seems to have place for none. Make songs for men, you have our support... I love both versions of the songs equally.. It's really cool that this creator has the ability to make a song with the same tune but opposite meaning without the lyrics seeming out of place. What's sad.. really sad.. is the original is about a Man who knows he's becoming less than he used to be. Worse than when they started and he only hopes that if she does leave, that she leaves him with mercy. He knows he's unworthy. Mercy meaning he may not deserve it but he hopes. "A little sympathy", he says. Yet your female perspective makes him out to be this person who deliberately hurt you and owes You. Saying "You let me down" is such a cut to the neck. He was already sad and falling apart, couldn't you stay and help him out? Point out that he's crumbling and needs help? Make a version where she lends him a hand?? Pull him from that depression???

This is what happens when a man, instead of putting his worth on himself, he puts it on a woman... He gets disappointed and then wonders why he was treated like an optional trash. It's the same feeling girls were having for a very long time, when they were treated like an option from disgusting predators. A very sad and hurtfull feeling of being used like a toy.

@@missstranger7697 This is not at all what is happening, even so, everyone puts one's worth into someone they believe they can trust. That's why betrayal hurts so much. My point was, was that the artist had the power to change the narrative into something more than another blame game. We're all humans after all. And to respond to your point, people everywhere are not treated very well, women in the past weren't and men aren't today. But none of that matters because to blame someone is to not take any responsibility, we all play a part in how society functions.
