F-Zero (SNES) - "Giant ship" shortcuts, hidden spots and glitches

Here I'll show you that the giant ship doesn't appear only in Port Town I, Port Town II and White Land II, it appears in other levels as well, as being too far from where you jumped or being out of bounds.
Also, some spots can cause the AI (or CPU) vehicles to glitch its path, making them go in front or behind you, depending on your landing and the AI's distance.

This game was FZero at its best. Everything just felt so good. I wish they'd make a remake of the original with the same exact mechanics, controls and levels but with better graphics and like 5 new grand prix circuits. Maybe even a built-in course designer. That's the dream.

If nothing else, the dream's a bit more tangible now I definitely like the original, but 99 implementing X's boost mechanics feels so much more engaging

wow that's actually really surprising that they thought to program and stop shortcuts like this! Meanwhile all these other modern racers are getting broken with 1-2 sec laps but F-Zero back in 1990 just wasn't having it!

The spaceship is their means of preventing you from breaking the AI path really. when you skip too many checkpoints that are at a certain distance from each other, the game stops updating your position thus your rank will lower and course collisions will only apply correctly if you get back to the last checkpoint the game saved as your current position (noticeable in old Fuzee hacks).

@@AlejandroChannel Neat! I had just assumed due to the limitations of the course maps being so tightly packed together that this was introduced. Hadn't even thought about how these kips would affect the AI.

I was wondering if it was possible in Red Canyon 2 to jump to the Red Canyon 1 turn. I could never do it. At least I know now that it is possible.

You can also jump from Red Canyon II to Red Canyon I by jumping through the jump plate that is right next to the big arrow, If I knew that before I would have added it...

Aun recuerdo que en la maquina arcade tenian instalado una SNES y cuando depositabas una moneda te daban 20 minutos,tenia actualmente 5 años de edad y este fue el que jugue y a los 6 años supere todo el juego en la dificultad master,en ese tiempo se juntaba mucho la gente para jugar KOF 2002 pero vieron que lo que jugaba y para esa edad estaba interesante XD Aun recuerdo cuando supere el juego en master con la nave mas dificil de controlar (Golden Fox) todos se sorprendieron hasta el dueño del negocio de las maquinitas,lo peor es que al lado de ese negocio esta mi casa y mis padres escucharon todos los gritos y hasta el mio y pensaron que me hicieron algo pero no,era una sensacion que no tenias idea...... Ahora solo quedan recuerdos de mi niñes y actualmente tengo 24 años🥹 Buen video y gracias por recordar ese momento

You can flight from track 3 to track 5 but track 5 looks different in 💣 zone, that happened to me once when refuel area changed to fly ramps. No idea the reason. 30 years ago.

The thing I kind of hate about the original F-Zero is that you can only access 7 of the 15 tracks in “Practice” mode. This means you have to go to Grand Prix mode to access all the tracks; which can really limit your chances to experiment and find all these shortcuts and abnormalities.

At last it's now possible in FZ final which unlocks all the tracks in practice mode.

Two actually; BS F-Zero and BS F-Zero 2 (although BS2 I believe is just an upgrade to BS1). They were Satellaview games so their full contents and capacities are lost to time though, sadly.
