I love how this old school generation (Napom, Helium etc) is showing these new schoolers how important flow, technique, precision, sound design is. Pushing the foundations to the absolute limit.

@D-Hawk Beats NaPoM has been beatboxing professionally for over a decade, so I think it's safe to say he's old school. Although he keeps up with the new school beatboxers by learning their techniques, his overall style is still old school. Skiller, Zede, and Reeps One are ancient lol

So true. when i close my eyes and listen to napoms round its surprsingly the freshest out of all wildcards, not new in the sound design or structure but the approach is so different from new schoolers.

@@Algorox I always feel like old school refers to like Jenny Muhammad, Rahzel, Doug E Fresh. The actual OG originators, not Napom who is definitely a legend but not old school by any means

One of the things that makes Max's flow so special is his use of pauses, rests, and hollow space in his beats. It gives his routines and flows a dynamism that you rarely hear.

Unfortunately that was his downfall as well against Zekka GBB 2021. Napom freestyled both rounds, Zekka came prepared. 4-1 outcome. It's always a two edged sword with his rawness. No way he's getting past D-low, River, Collaps, Zekka who all come prepared for every round.

Isn't it funny how Helium did 400+ takes before the final recording and then there is Napom just doing a freestyle first take and will most likely make top 3

Audio processing on Napom when he does the hi hats sounds so odd and un-natural. Did anyone else hear the eq change?

It's a bad mic and a bathroom recording, so the sound bounces around way too much during hi hats. Nothing with the eq, in fact I doubt it is even mixed lol

@@sahaj366 got you bro. It just sounding like audio processing, I guess the reverb from recording in bathroom was super strong and it changes the sound lots.

It sounded a bit weird to me too, but I'm pretty sure changing the EQ settings at any point would disqualify him so he wouldn't risk doing that. It's just like you said bathroom acoustics and mic quality which made it sound like that.

Great reaction, , hehe you were quite quiet during these wild cards which says something of the quality in itself. I hadn’t heard much from Max apart from during the wildcards he’s 🔥, napom flow as always 🔥🔥

You raise a very good point about Max’s tight, concise style. He’s got pretty elite rhythm with that a new school style, so I’d love to hear him on a drunker groove for sure.

NAPOM lives in the BEATBOX HOUSE but he uses phone mic and bathroom recording (and freestyle maybe too) for the 2nd round of the GBB. Wtf? Why? It seems like he doesn´t want to go to GBB anymore

No, I think that having a raw music video will turn to stands out more, making them more realistic for the wildcard.

@@shuzu3769 but he could have done a "raw/natural recording" with much better quality sound, like Helium in his first round for example. In this one there's so much reverberation that sometimes some sounds cover the others
