There was no luck and no time. The pandemic prevented it from becoming the World Cup. But if you look at it from the other side, then she managed to do not so little, unlike today’s Russian figure skaters who suffer today from politicized and biased international sports. Stupid ignorant people in Eurosport and the Olympic Committee robbed themselves and millions of figure skating fans.

Artistic judgement is of course always subjective ; She is certainly one of the best artist in this competition but i prefer the fragile elegance of Anna Sherbakova ... just a question of taste.

Adagio BWV 974 Her second half choreography reminds me of Yuna .Her upper body gesture is so natural without any awkward move, cannot wait to see her in future.

Marika fasola Age doesn’t matter, there are a lot of skaters much older than her who are worse at PCS. Of course there is always a room to grow, but even right now her artistry is the best among all Russian ladies

The only one of the three former juniors who has it all, IMO. I loved her when all the girls were busy learning the quads and delivering sped-up programs that were difficult to follow, and she was taking silver and bronze. And she nailed the 3A to show that the wait was worth it. A pleasure to watch, and what real ice skating is and should be about - a beautiful combination of power, sport, jumps, performance and art.

@@collegeofamericanenglish3006 yes I agree. She has potential, but I do not like her jumps, programs, nor performance. She is a strong skater, but to me a clean 3A is the king of all jumps because it is very difficult to cheat the Axel.

Which is why I said "who has it all". I like Anna. I like that she has artistry and is a powerful jumper. But in my opinion, she doesn't have it all. At least not as of now.

E S I totally agree! I think she’s the whole package, in my view she has the best skating skill across the all three and certainly better than Alina Zagitova’s I really hope she could get a quad to have a chance for Olympic gold. It will be a crime not to have her to be the gold! And certainly no injury for her pls!!

I haven’t been interested in Russian ladies since Lipnitskaya (mostly because they weren’t my cup of tea), however, there’s something about Alyona that is so unique and refreshing, so elegant and fragile yet fierce and confident. This may sound weird, but for me she’s like a year. She can do every season, from summer to autumn, winter and spring. What I mean is, every season is unique, it has its own “thing”, and Alyona can do every season. If I’m being honest, I think she could get the worst program ever and make it into a masterpiece. She’s simply magical!

I didn't mention tech, because obviously 5 years have passed. But 2 people show their art in 2 completely different styles. Alena is elegant, so fast, flexible. And Yulia is deep, pensive, like a storyteller.

@@user-pq1gg7hj7o no, I didnt forget her, I just didnt mention her. Big difference. I think honestly it should be Alena, Anna, Sasha at worlds because Anna is more artistic then Sasha but the odds are slim that they wont put Sasha first if she lands 3 of her quads (not even all 4)

Everytime i watch her skate, i have the feeling that it's the music that is being played for her, and not the other way around. How can she make even the most simple movement such as lifting her hand look so soft, elegant and beautiful? Such an unique and incredible skater xD

Careful, they used to say the same about Evgenia a few seasons ago and all that went down the drain. I love Alena and wish her to thrive and keep succeeding, but I worry about what happens when she gets a little older

She is MAJESTIC!!! For real, she does ART on ICE. Her jumps are beautiful plus a magnificent artistic posture (her arms)... she truly FEELS the music and try to pass it on... amazing!

wtf judges, when will you give Alena the higher PCS she deserves?!!! A complete joke that Alina was given a higher PCS than Alena and Kaori. Alena absolutely sold this routine, difficulty and artistry combined and she deserves to be rewarded!

Alina is most titled female skater atm and in russian history. So she deserve these PCS and will recieve even more when she perform better. Alena is talented but she's only in the beggining of this route to glory, while Alina is already achieved every possible goal. You can't seriously compare Kaori to Alina and Alena....Kaori simply from other league.

Why puzzled? Alina is a current olympic champion. She is very popular and ISU is interested in her career in figure skating.

@@ermor2013 they could hold the PCS for Sasha or Anna but it's a crime to hold them for Aljona. She has such as mature and unique ice skating skills and body language talent. Her programs are masterpieces even with no jumps. The only female skater I could rewatch non stop. And find something new each time.

PCS is a joke anyway. This score is granted for consistency, popularity, and title. Like Alina, she is the OGM and current world gold medalist so automatically she will get the highest PCS among the ladies. I believe Alena will get her mark but she needs to be comsistent throughout the season. IMO this needs to change. PCS should be judged based on the actual skating not because of popularity and title. It's clear that Alena is the winner of PCS that night followed by Kaori.

wow she has such artistry and fluidity when she skates. She truly looks like she's enjoying herself on the ice. I've never been a fan of the russian skaters except for evgenia but that was only after she joined brian orser. This is my first time watching her and I'm truly impressed

Какая же она красивая и милая ! Все движения, все линии! Такая ровная, легкая. Она рождена для фигурного катания. Такое чувство, что она сто лет катается. А ей всего 16 лет! 2022 год,а я все пересматриваю.Уникальная фигуристка,какое изумительное скольжение,она прям плывет по льду! В ее исполнении эта программа прозвучала как ледовое кружево,где великолепные прыжковые элементы в лёгкую вплетены в кайму программы! Я уже молчу о великолепной фигуре и красивейших руках,об артистизме--это все бесподобно! Очень жаль,что сегодня Алёну оттеснили в тень,там такой потенциалище ! Totally amazing ! Integrating with her unforgettable technique & artistry, this was the most spectacular, clean & graceful skating that I have ever seen since Winter Olympic 2018. Definitely, we will see her stand on podium more often regardless of ISU events.

One of these angels is Alena, The super girl with big blue eyes, She glides on ice like river Lena, Her artistry reach for the skies. Her one jump takes half of the ice. And spins are gorgeous. She has this natural talent of interpreting the music that can't really be taught.

Watching this now because I miss skating competitions. :( It’s making me sad that I was going to see her at worlds because I live in Canada and it’s not every year Worlds are in ur country ☹️😣😢 Anyways I love this program, it tells a story and makes you feel something. I also love Twilight! Love the beginning piece. I’m so proud of how well she did here and can’t wait to see her new programs for the next season whenever that is :)
