The all-new, 10-episode second installment of THE X-FILES is executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Director WALTER SKINNER. Additionally, the all-new episodes will feature guest-star appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Along with Carter, series veteran Glen Morgan serves as an executive producer.
In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - “X-Files” - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.
Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions, THE X-FILES is created and executive-produced by Chris Carter.

To be honest the only reason I think its a reference is because of them naming one of the characters Judy which you may not have heard yet in TP if you are only on episode 4.

Love this season! It might be different from classic X-files but they are mature agents who is close to retirement age, of course they are more loose. They can't play young and live in dramatic shit all the time! I just hope if this is really the last, at least give us closure at the end of ep.10. Please let Dana and Fox stay as a couple. I am totally ok this being the last season ever for X-files.

I should hope it's the last season, since its Gillian Anderson's last. I don't see how they can continue without Scully, I imagine it could end with Mulder and Scully moving on from the FBI and reunite with William, OR if they wanna open a possibility without Scully, Mulder could have Scully fake her death so she could go into hiding with William. These are just many crazy ideas I've been thinking of since binging the X-Files.

I just watched Triangle for the 1st time. Very enjoyable episode! It reminded me of when Star Trek goes back in time. That would be pretty dang awesome to see a young Shatner as a mystery man in an X-File! It's too bad Spock & McCoy weren't computer generated. If you used the new Spock you could probably fill in any Yeoman.? Just a fun idea.? Personally I think the connection would be Sizzling on possible perspectives of reality & the maturation potential of the human species on planet Earth.! 8D

cicero jose Episode 5 and 6 felt like classic X-Files that we know and love but this season has been utter garbage. I would have rather waited another year for the producers to give us the mysterious, drama filled X-Files that we use to get back in the 90’s. Now the shoe just focus on comedy! The acting is cheesy, most story plots this season have been a joke. Let’s also not forgot about the revolution that William Mulder is the cigarette smoking mans son, that in which I don’t buy! Mulder and Skullyare his parents and that’s the way I always see it. Hell the second X-Files movie bombed but it’s better than this show.
