The sun disappeared 5 minutes ago. There are now 3 minutes of sunshine left. After this, the light previously emitted by the sun will cease to be captured by the earth. Life can continue and will not be extinguished when the lights go out. We estimate that there are still 4 days to go before the earth's surface temperature becomes unliveable.

i'd be more concerned by the fact the sun actually vanished from the sky. like thats genuinely the type of shit im irrationally scared of looking up and seeing one day, the 'sky' just spinning out of control, or the sun suddenly just.. disappearing because we got dislodged from the solar system. it's genuinely terrifying, i don't think we could survive something like that, honestly.

Alright Einstein, maybe there were Strong signs of the sun rapidly reducing in luminosity before a sudden appearance? We don’t know the lore surrounding the emergency announcement but maybe scientists had clues before hand? All the “know it alls” keep mentioning this point, but no one seems to notice that’s it’d actually take a few months for the air temperature to reach below freezing not 4 days. Things would get dire but THAT rapidly

yknow what would be a lil change of pace with one of these eas scenarios? a sudden change and everything going back to normal - for example with this - the sun suddenly reappears in the end and everything is fine again, with the last announcement saying that "oh the sun's back, the lights are gonna be back in 3 days but it'll still be cold for quite a bit" and then the last last one being "youre safe to go"

Frostpunk is quite frightening due to the idea of a huge storm and freezing conditions. This EAS drains all hope someone could have in the scenario the sun dissapears and extreme low temperatures show up

I find it strange how the announcer’s accent in the Emergency Alert in Jamaica goes from Patois/Creole to American by the end of the message. Which is the second time I’ve noticed this happen in one of these scenarios, first in the U.S. annexing Canada scenario, where the Loyalists of Canada’s alert announcer’s accent goes from British to American-sounding and back to British by the end of the alert.

I transcribed part of the video and ran it through GPTZero, it scored 74% probability of being AI generated. Compare this to a typical formal human-written text which scores 10-15%. This is almost certainly written by an AI. Still don't believe me? Try going onto ChatGPT and asking it "Please list 3 fictional evacuation bunkers in Jamacia with addresses" and see the result. You'll see a response quite similar to what was in the "bunker locations" part of this video. Also, while you're listening to that to compare, consider, why would a human writer ever be talking about the "bustling city-scape" of a city that was going through turmoil due to a disaster? There's plenty of other little bits in the video that make no sense if you listen for them.

Even though I was born in Britain, I’m Jamaican! Seeing Jamaica going through an event like this in an EAS was so cool to see! It even made me a little bit emotional thinking about my family having to go through with a situation like this! Loving these, they all have a ridiculous amount of effort and thought put into them! As a suggestion, if you ever decide to do the UK or England again, the details you can include can be things like our counties and the tube or train lines (we have a system here called the TFL that sort of oversees all travel in London and a bit outside of it, they even release warnings when it’s snowing and when storms cause flooding on the tracks or cause a tree to blow over on them or any event like that). Keep doing what you’re doing!

We wouldn't know the Sun disappeared "5 minutes ago" because the light takes 8 minutes to get to Earth. Since information can't travel faster than the speed of light, there's no way for anyone on Earth to know the Sun is gone before the last rays of light hit us.

do you know about ‘made in heaven’? I think it could be a good eas scenario. it is from JoJo’s bizarre adventure and it is time acceleration that effects everything except humans, so time moves much faster and animals move at normal speed for them but very fast for us, and other things happen like food rotting and car crashes. there is a lot of things to mention happening

As a native Spanish speaker I can say that the Spanish part was actually pretty well done 👍🏽 with the only negative criticisms I could use is that for a Cuban Alert the voice definitely sounds like a native English speaker speaking Spanish and that some of the parts of the speech could the worded better to sound more natural, like the “center of centralised distribution” part the bits that repeat the warning that the police will be used on people that don’t follow the guidelines or try to cause trouble.

Alert World’s EAS scenarios went from a one alert, higher video quality, EAS Messages to literally EAS messages that are lower video quality (fitting for the atmosphere of the EAS) and has multiple alerts to even one from an airport!

A bit of constructive criticism: At 8:20 it is stated that water is less dense than ice. That is not the case; In-fact ice can be as much as 33% more voluminous than water. Sorry for the Mr.SmartAss moment.

Hey Mr smart-ass, go back and watch the video. They're saying snow is less dense than ice, not water, which is true. Both are frozen water, but a solid cubic inch of ice has a lot more water than a cubic inch of snow. Make sure you're actually right before hitting someone with the old "erm, achktually".

Fun fact: It is impossible to get advanced warning that the sun is gone. By its very nature there is nothing that travels faster than light. They could only give advanced warning if they themselves planned to cause the event.
