Strike a pad, press voice in the upper right hand corner of the module until the display reads MID and then adjust the MIDI note value with the left and right buttons.

It doesn't work kn ez drummer....superior drummer has a midi learn function that works well

@@trekyy I exchanged it for an Alesis Nitro Surge kit and it works now. The nitro mesh module I had was faulty.

@@crushworthyxo I had a fear that would happen if I went for the same kit. Try a different DAW, and the stand alone plugins.

@@crushworthyxo hey....I had the exact same issue..looked around for weeks for a fix....changed cables, different plug-ins, drivers..I tried it on a different laptop and it worked like a peach...apparently the sound card in my laptop was faulty...or had some driver issues

@@vasorotto19 Yes, in Superior Drummer or another VST can fix it remapping the note of hihat to tip or edge linear articulation. In options of Superior Drummer can check it the differents edrums presets, and there you can make it. If you need more information, ask me here

USB protcol has limits as far as daisy chained devices, 64, power transfer, and cable length. Standard.USB 2.0 has a 10 meter cable length. 3.0 has a 5 meter length. But in real world situations these lengths should be less than the protocol. AFA MIDI is concerned, i have no idea. But i would hack off at least a meter or two off the advised length just to make sure the data gets there. If you can afford a pure gold cable then go for it and use the full length. :)

federico fookes Hey! Might be a month late but im not sure if you found out yet but it’s on the computer side. If you’re using a mac, you are in luck since they have good hardware and the latency is quite low and you could play live with a decently low latency. For windows, you could use ASIO4ALL to decrease the latency but I don’t know what the latency on that since i don’t use windows and if it is playable live. Hope this helps!

@@bassdgaming You can always use an audio interface on Windows to decrease delay. USB interfaces use ASIO drivers which are better than the finicky generic ASIO4ALL drivers and create less CPU strain.

@@spht9ng Hi can you please explain in more detail, I have tried to how it up to my Interface but no sound coming through, I've got ASIO4ALL aswell(don't know if I did the setting right) I'm using SSD5. Not picking up on the software.

Yeah use GarageBand and also have a look at some of the free drum sample instruments on pianobook. Not sure if GarageBand has exs24/ logic sampler, but if it does it should be able to use them - will give you some drum sounds that don’t sound as super humanly produced as the stock logic/ GarageBand samples.

Can you elaborate? How to set your drum plugin as the output? I’m using Addictive Drums 2 but maybe you don’t know about that?

you need to use an ASIO driver silly, your output is probably your sound card - change it to asio4all v2 or FL Studio ASIO

I'm sure you've found out by now but everyone suggest an interface. I'm fortunate enough that I had purchased one before so I could record guitar and vox and I started writing the drums with ez drummer until I realized how much I don't like sitting in front of a computer. I'm here trying to figure how to hook up the edrums that Ive had all year and never play because I suck at them lol. But I just learned that I can quantize and fix my poor drumming skills 😃. The future looks promising.

I had to find out for myself but I was lucky that I had bought a zoom r24, so I could record guitar, vocals, etc. But I was using Reaper and some vst plugins and noticed sometimes I would have latency and sometimes not with my plugins. But whenever I used my R24 as an audion interface, boom.... Worked like a charm!

No, I got a cheap one from Walmart and it works, you may have to turn it to number 10 to get the right midi notes and also make sure you got the volume up and your audio will come out the iPad

Hey....I had a similar issue...my sound driver/card was the one causing it...didn't find a fix still does to this day...what worked for me was just playing it on a second laptop...it was a laptop problem....hope it works for you

Hey, If you still have this problem: 1. USB transmits only MIDI 2. Check MIDI devices in Audio Devices - it should be there in MIDI section. 3. Most probably you have to enable new MIDI source in DAW. If you need to record audio from drums, most probably you need to connect it to audio interface.

HeLMeT648 i was - ableton doesnt have presets for my nitro mesh kit so i had to manually map individual drum samples to each pad. still haven’t found an easier fix sadly

Now, connected via USB using ASIO4ALL, it shows Alesis Crimson 2 as an available input device but when I hit the pads, no midi is getting transmitted to the DAW at all. I checked with MidiOX as well and no midi is coming through even with it recognizing the ekit....... WTF DO I DO NOW

I would imagine you need to turn the audio buffer length down as far as you can. Find it in the audio settings in your daw or whatever software you're using. Shoot for like 6-10 ms

To reduce latency. All the usb does is send MIDI messages. You still need an audio interface to process the sounds with very low latency.

With ios the latency is not a problem at all.

That's entirely dependent on the software you're using. It functions exactly like any other MIDI controller.

I guess I don't understand. When I plug in any velocity keyboard, the drum sounds available from the plugins play without a problem. The various drum sounds are grouped together in a way that makes sense. The kick and snare are next to the high-hat. It all makes sense. Same with my tap trigger. Plug it in and it works, no problemo. Then I plug in the DM6 to the MacBook, same as the other aforementioned triggers and half of the pads are silent and the ones that work are not properly assigned. I think what the op is trying to understand is why the DM6 or similar gen triggers won't work as easily as this video would have you believe, or more to the point, just tell us how to make it fucking work.

Okay, so there is a simple fix for this that I discovered from somewhere else: Push the mode button, select "+" or "-" until you here the right drums coming from the pads. Any other method is ridiculously complicated.

@@27sadhu I use Logic X, and I just retried hooking it up. What i did was push the pattern button until the module readout says "- - N" only the "n" looks more like an upside down "u" Anyway, pushed the "pattern" button 3 times, got "- - N", New project, create software instrument, worked right away. Good Luck!

It will have virtually zero latency or need for an interface whether it's ios or not; it's midi.

Better late than never, I need to apologize. As far as I was able to determine, it's not possible to change the Nitro Mesh pads' midi note assignments. But you can change midi note assignments on the other end, in the DAW plugin, or at least you can in Reaper's reasamplitude5000 and, in my case, Steve Slade drums SSD 5.5.
