Alessandro Bianchi was born in Como and studied in Piacenza Conservatoire where he was awarded Organ and Organ Composition diplomas with Luigi Toja. He also attended masterclasses with Nicholas Danby and Arturo Sacchetti.
He is Artistic Director of the Musical Association “Amici dell’Organo di Cantu’” and organist of St. Edward the Confessor Anglican Church in Lugano.
Organ Concert tours have seen him play more than 2200 recitals, always as a soloist, in many International Organ Festivals in Italy, Vatican, Switzerland, Germany, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Austria, Spain, Baleares, Tenerife, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Alands, Iceland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Russia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lettland, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Israel, Malta, USA, Mexico, Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, South Africa.
He has given Masterclasses and lectures on the Italian Music in Italy, England, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, USA, Singapore and Mexico and he has undertaken several CD and Radio-TV broadcasts and recordings in Europe, USA and Brasil.
Alessandro was juror in several organ competitions and many composers have dedicated new organ works to him. In 2014, the City of Cantù awarded him with the title of “Honorable Citizen” for his work in Art and Culture.
