i believe he is one of the greatest songwriters alive. he experiments with so many musical styles and aesthetics, but there is always a particularly american existential dread present in everything he comes up with.

@Char Aznable I wouldn't call it a more polished Duster. It seems like a very intentional pastiche of nu-metal and adjacent sounds from the past, with the whole... Delicate angst with hushed vocals over hanging distorted guitar melodies, a sorta pre-ironic sincerity. It's sorta like Freak on a leash by Korn lol kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLh3pbF1u5jRe5c.html I like it a lot, I think he's doing a really good job reheating that sound and aesthetic appearance while adding something dynamic to it

I’ve come back to this video around 20 times now to better form my understanding of this song. As a huge Alex G fan, at first, I thought the video was subversively mocking something and wasn’t sure on my feeling towards the composition. Now, I’m getting the feelings I get from the 70’s prog group, Goblin and horror soundtrack maestro Dario Argento. I’m glad I persisted. Thank you, Alex G.
