Ever since Alex G started to spike popularity I've never seen many people talk about THIS song, it's genuinely the most amazing and beautiful song ever, I love it dearly and hold it to my heart.

Every time I hear Alex say "I love you Harvey, I don't care" I feel so much emotion well up inside me. I love you, I don't care.

i interpret this song to be about growing into a person your child self wouldn’t recognize or even someone they would hate, and feeling guilty for abandoning them and not doing what was needed to be who they deserved

This song always reminds me of my younger brother. Starting off innocent and not feeling the need to compare himself to others or prove his worth, into growing into an older kid experiencing insecurities for the first time in his life looking to me for comfort. I often find myself telling him that i dont care about anything or anyone but him.

The way he paints and constructs the characters so beautifully in less than 2 minutes is unbelievable. My interpretation of the song is abt humility. The main character definetly brags and has achieved things but in the end he shrugs his ego off and cares for his brother, who has been like a foil/opposite to him. My head plays a mini movie everytime I listen to it and I can't stop admiring how beautiful the song is. If DSU was available where I'm from, id def give all my savings ;-;

beautiful song. my personal interpretation is about unconditional love. he likely felt the need to earn love from his friends and family “give my medals to the ones that i love” and “i wanna prove that i got the balls” shows this. and in his song ‘black hair’ there’s a lyric saying “it’s not who you are, it’s what you’ve done” and harvey must represent a younger figure in his life. a brother, nephew, son, etc. and even though harvey is immature he still has unconditional love for him, he doesn’t have to prove or earn anything.

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH OH MY GOODDD I LOVE THIS SONG ( i wish i lcould listen t oit forever and ever and never get bored of it.) it just feels so good and it's so forest themed and its like you're reading a book and what you're imagining makes edges are fuzzy. it's like you're next to a warm fire and you're wrapped in a green blanket. it tastes like living the american highschool life and going off to college and coming back to see your siblings (especially a younger brother) . it feels like graduating senior top grades. god i love this song so much. especially the green feel to it . harvey is such a green name i love it so much it feels like you're going to the forest and laying on the grass after a long day of highschool. it feels like coming back to your house after a vacation to see your dog. it feels like waking up early to watch football on your old tv. it's feels like the hours that come after you celebrate your birthday at midnight. it feels like a green lollipop melting in ur mouth. it feels like turf on a football field and it feels like the texture of leaves and the smell of sweat on your clothes after going on a walk. it feels like getting drunk at midnight and climbing out your window to see your best friend. it feels like an old friend you've kept through everything. it tastes like dry grass and car plaster and burnt tree bark and dog slobber i hope that makes sense i just really really love this song.

I've seen more than one fan of his refer to nostalgia when talking about his music. I can totally see that. I'm a Gen Xer & I could imagine him fitting in fine during 2 musical eras based on everything I've heard of his so far: the mid 60s & the 90s. A lot of his stuff (esp. earlier stuff) would've sounded completely in step with the indie of the 90s.

What i really like about this song Is that it feels like When you finally reached your biggest dreams, you become the most Prideful bragging person ever. But at the end of the day, you always have that one person that you will always love And it humbles you well

I have heard many songs by Alex G but this one is the best for me forever, it really touched my heart.
