Alex Mukulu is an icon that has not been properly celebrated . His " 30 years of Bananas" is actually a prophesy ( just like Animal Farm novel ) In that play ( written 40 years ago) the main character was one Kalekezi , an immigrant who cunningly exploited Uganda`s never ending snags and ended up as the Director of Uganda Heritage . Museveni watched the play in 1987 and promised that , unlike those other former "deaf" presidents , he comes with EARS and will listen to the people . After 35 years of M7 deafness , he reminded Ugandans that his real name is TIBAHABURWA ... meaning that he is also a deaf president. Meanwhile , Uganda remains a banana republic that Alex Mukulu saw 40 years ago.

Used to watch Alex's play muzukkulu wa kabangala. On our black and white tvs in the 80s. They used to give him leftovers(bukunkumuka) in the play.
