The video cut coz Pereira hit the guy with a hook on the guard and completely separated his arm from the body, sending the severed limb spinning into the camera. How tf does he hook so hard just from dragging his head and weight backwards as he throws the hook? Is it the frame too? He's friggin ENORMOUS
@FromPoetryToRap2 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, his arms are super long and he whips the hook in, throwing the elbow upwards. Many people forget to keep the elbow at least level with the fist, or even higher than the fist, at the moment of impact. Then also of course he throws in his whole hip, rotates the foot etc
@MichaelLe3962 жыл бұрын
Thats the proper way to throw the lead hook, is for the weight to go from front foot to back foot. The genius in it is its a trap to get them to punch at a closer object as a bait, and then throws a proper lead hook as a simultaneously offensive and defensive move. Mayweather was famous for baiting his head on the front foot to fade and land his famous pull right counter. Same concept
@digipoke123452 жыл бұрын
No clue how he makes 185
@unchien2069 Жыл бұрын
You said it exactly. Shifting the weight backwards dramatically as you turn into the punch creates a ton of rotational power. Add in long arms and some explosive athleticism and you’ve got a murderous lead hook.

Any one of you can develop this technique, despite his gifts of height and lank frame, the main reason his hook is so powerful is that it’s virtually textbook in terms of weight transfer from the lead leg into sitting back on the rear leg and turning hip fully! Work on that and you too can have a powerful lead hook.

I’m brazilian and he’s not actually demonstrating power in here. He’s telling how to punch and not get punched while you are punching. Like a subtle movement with your head, because everytime you punch, you provoke the opponent to attack, so you need to move out of the way.
@ajkizer Жыл бұрын
