Pereira already accomplished the hardest belt. Which is 185. The amount of weight Pereira had to cut to make 185 was insane. How he was still able to beat adesanya is crazy. Then he also beat the current champ in Strickland.

Pereira is gonna become the heavyweight champ just watch. His normal walk around weight is like 235. He can easily get up to 245-255 and still be in great shape because he's so long and he's 6'5. His striking is insane and that left hook will put anyone out. I see Pereira wanting jones at heavyweight for several reasons.

Lewis has power but he dont have anywhere near the skills in striking as Pereira. Pereira got knocked out by adesanya because he was dehydrated smart guy lol. Pereira walked around at 235. He had to cut down to 185. That's 50 pounds. That's mostly water weight. When you're dehydrated you're obviously weaker, and as a fighter more prone to being hurt or suffer a concussion because your brain doesn't have enough fluid. Pereira just beat jan who is a crazy big light heavyweight and has crazy power. He didn't even hurt Pereira. Because Pereira wasn't depleted and dehydrated. Lewis wont make it out of the 1st round vs Pereira.

People not giving Alex a chance at HW are stupid. Alex is 235-240 walk around right now, all he needs to do is gain 10 pounds of mostly fat. I truly believe he’d be top 5. That’s not saying much though because HW is the worst division by far. Grappling is an issue, but heavyweights are not exactly that skilled grapplers. Only Jon Tom and Almeida are extremely problematic. I don’t see many out striking him in a technical fight and he definitely has the power to sleep anyone.

Alex is dependent on pure strength for his grappling but even then i dont even see him getting past curtis blaydes or any other guy with middle of the road wrestling Also chins are different at hw cause more fat=better chin more water in brain And since they can pack as much mass as possible they have insane ko power(infinite eating for strength) Which is why majority of hw are just sluggers i dont think pereira will do good with this type of pressure

To be fair the LHW division right now is at its weakest ever the belt is getting tossed around like hot potato for the last few years and i dont see him beating jon or tom at HW those guys literally cut weight to get to their weight and they can grapple. Alex is gonna get overpowered and his chin is gonna get exposed once again.

100% - I would love to see Alex move up and at the very least take on a title fight. I think he can get it done, after all he's never disappointed. Even in his loss to Adesanya, he was winning that fight before he got clipped. And like you said Chael, you don't need to know every move on the chessboard to be effective on the ground. He's strong, can get up, and I don't see anyone that surpasses him on the feet. Aspinall and Jones both have that speed "advantage" in HW, but Alex would come in hot there too. Let's go!

@hasanjason7324 someone weak as izzy?? I know it's popular to hate izzy these days, but the guy was one of the most dominant champs in ufc. And getting KOd isn't just about power, but placement too. So take into consideration that Alex was cutting serious weight, and izzy is a master marksman. I guess that's what I'm smoking. Also, did you not see the shots Alex took from Jiri, and kept going?

Alex is a champ- champ, and like Chael said, no one has ever seriously attempted the triple champ status. That alone would make an instant title match a big draw for Alex. And no one knows for sure what would happen, but I know Alex is game to give it a shot.

Yes! I've been calling for it since Tom won. Alex deserves the chance. The time is right. He's not getting any younger at 36. Hill and Jones are sidelined with injury recoveries, and Stipe doesn't want to fight for a real belt, he just wants his last legacy fight against Jones. It's a perfect time to slate Tom against Periera for the undisputed heavyweight belt, and it's a unique event fit for the spectacle of UFC 300. Do it!

He was brought up fast to fight Izzy for that storyline. He took advantage of his opportunities and showed up ready to go in his fights and actually won. Weve seen others get the same hype and either lost in b2b opportunities or just start runn8ng their mouth and barely beat short notice opponents or not even make weight.

I see it. That frame is ridiculous. He could easily get to Almeida size and I like that band represented in the division but I don't see a reason for him to rush to it. He's just moved to LH but he has already taken out the top of it so.... You know given his age it's something to think about in the next year or so. I think the division may be about to see some new looks in those lighter faster guys that can tag you on the back of the jaw and make the legs go.

I've always believed that the first triple champion will be someone who is tall and probably fits best at light heavyweight but cuts a few times to 185 and then jumps up to heavyweight to win the third title. 135 - 155 is not a giant jump it could happen, but there's a lot of talent there.

I can definitely name 10 fighters that ended because either a bone snapped or the fighter went unconscious. Meaning they clearly weren't wanting out cuz they didn't tap. So saying submissions don't work is wild .... Was you wanting out against Silva? How about your first fight with Filho???? Where you didn't actually tap, but you yelled out in pain and the ref considered that a verbal submission?? Submissions are literally one of the 2 ways to finish a fight. That's WHY you want to know wrestling, get it to the ground and either start pounding on them or you try to submit them.

If Alex beats Jamal. Then he can gain some weight in a year and win the heavyweight title. Then he can fight against Francis Ngannou and win. He then can spend 2-3 years to gain weight, and move to Sumo, and become Sumo champion. Then retire and return to his normal heavyweight. That would make him the greatest fighter in history of humanity. Kickboxing champ, UFC champ, Sumo champ.

Bj Penn was the closest to being 3 division champ. Competeted anywhere from featherweight up to heavyweight. I don't think there's anyone else who can accurately stake that claim. That's over a hundred pound difference in weight. The guy literally did not care how big or tall you were. He was coming to whoop your ass. And back in the day he certainly could do it too

He may be able to get to the weight , probably walks around at 230 anyway , there's also a fella that walks around at 250 , moves like a middle weight , hits very hard , the interim champ ( we all know he's the best HW in the world right now ) it's been mooted that Alex should fight him , and why not , nobody else wants to , Gane doesn't want it , didn't want it when he had the chance , so it makes perfect sense for Alex to fight Tom , he wants it , true warrior . The top two for GOAT status are GSP and Mighty Mouse for sure! Little Hank got lucky the judges liked him in the second fight. I had Mighty Mouse winning that one.

His chin against Tom will get smashed, he already has a suspect jaw at his current weight, the death touch isn’t quite the same at 205 (see Jan, and Vakhitov fights) so against a 250lber I don’t see how he beats Tom or Pav or even Jon who would rag doll him
