I am a Utah native, and I’m a huge Univ of Utah fan. To have Alex play at Utah was truly a pleasure and an honor! Additionally, to think that the Univ had both number 1 picks out of college with Alex #1 to the NFL, and Andrew Bogut #1 to the NBA. What a year in college athletics for the State of Utah. Our in state rival, BYU downgraded its athletics program to a high school program, and since Alex’s time at Utah we became a PAC 12 member and eventually a solid contender year after year.

Alex, you were my dude when you got drafted. I believed in you even during the worst days and was so happy to see you put it together towards the end of your run with the Niners. I was sad to see you traded to KC, but I understood. I still rooted for you, you're my guy. And then to see you get hurt like that broke my heart. It made it all the more satisfying when you came back though, not to football, but that you were going to be okay and live your life your way. You didn't win us a championship, but I'll never forget the games you played. You matching Drew Brees TD for TD is a night I'll always cherish as a fan. The only jersey hanging on my rack is a scarlet 11 with your name on the back. You'll never read this, I'm sure, but to me you're better than even a champion. And that's just being a good man.

I think Alex Smith is a great leader! Ever since he came to Washington, we've had great runs at the playoffs, but when he got hurt, he couldn't lead the team. Haskins..... him.... When Smith came back, our team excelled. Thank you for giving our team hope Alex! I hope you stay healthy and continue to be a great leader! Maybe you could be a coach for Washington under Coach Rivera lol

Bro come to minnesota. You are a perfect fit. We are contenders. I know Kirk the starter. But if he blows or gets hurt you have cook, Jefferson, theilen, irv smith and mattison. And you have the right supportive positive attitude. Great leadership and all the experience. Hate on our d cause of last year? Blow me. We had like 5 rookie starters and 2nd 3rd year players playing a million snaps with no hunter or Barr. We will be back.

As a Chiefs fan, I have nothing but immense respect and love for AS11. He led the Chiefs to the playoffs for most of the years that he was on this team and he deserves so much respect for mentoring Mahomes and showing him how to be the professional QB that he turned out to be. I wish Veach would bring him on as maybe the backup QB so that he could get a ring with the Chiefs like he so obviously deserves.
