Alex was such an amazing character because unlike everyone else, he admitted his faults and had remorse for it too. I feel like I already forgive him.

I know the writers purposely showed signs of Alex being suicidal throughout the show but I really wanna know if their goal was to show that most of the time people don't see the warning signs. I know a lot of people think that's what they were trying to do but whether they were trying or not they did a great job with the plot. The fact Alex showed so many signs but there was always more "important" stuff going on so you just kinda brushed it off & forgot it about it really explains what actually happens.

From the beginning on, I noticed that Alex is suicidal too, but maybe that is because I have those feeling too, and I can relate to him.

My favourite character from the series. Can't say I didn't think about that he might try to kill himself. I was actually thinking a lot more kids will do that as the show progressed but I saw Alex was having the hardest time dealing with everything, despite his minor role in hurting Hannah. Heard there is season 2 coming and I really hope he'll make it out alive. Would be interesting to get inside his head for a change and view everything from his perspective, as well as the other kids. Alex seemed most troubled and complex beside Clay. The last episode was the most painful to watch. God ,what a masterpiece of a tv serie it was

Oh my god, this is beautiful. I hadn't even noticed all the signs that pointed to Alex being suicidal, which I think was probably why they structured it that way in the show. Anyway, I especially love the way you edited the beginning, like a collage that shows Alex's state of mind.

There were so many signs that alex was suicidal but everyone was busy trying to solve Hannah's case that they didn't pay attention to alex, even though there were so many points where it was obvious. :( For example: "Suicide is not an option? You know what clearly it is an option." "Oh so if I kill myself do you die too?" When he was going way over the speed limit in the car. And then when he fell in the pool purposely. Idk why I'm writing this as an assignment but oh well, I just feel so bad for my poor baby.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this show, but I love how it showed how much being suicidal can go unrecognized with the entire Alex subplot, he was showing signs the entire show but nobody cared and the same thing happened to him as to Hannah

i just rewatched a couple of episodes on season 1 and everything is so obivious now. Alex showed every sign of being suicidal. i always thought that he fell in the pool because he was drunk but he wasn't, The speeding scene should have been a direct notification but like others, i missed it. not to mention him organizing/cleaning up his room. im sorry, but i would be like Alex too if someone i knew died because i didnt do something to help.

It’s so genius how they did that. The whole time I was watching I was thinking “How the hell didn’t you notice that Hannah wanted to kill herself? How stupid and oblivious are you?” But I never thought Alex was going to. Which is so clever because it’s like an interactive way of showing how people need to pay attention. It’s so easy to miss obvious signs. People should have seen what Hannah was going to do, and stopped her. And they should have done the same for Alex. But it’s not always that easy.

Why did people not notice that he was suicidal immediately? I knew from the moment he started tearing signs down. And I honestly think he was passively suicidal before Hannah’s death because of the whole ‘FML’ deal.

i didn't noticed too, and i hate myself on that. i love this character. He has a good heart but he did something effected to Hannah that he didn't meant to, that's why he has more guilt than the others (except Clay) and he cares Hannah, he blames himself so much on her death. i wish he will be stay on SS2

The whole beauty of his character and his subplot is that the same thing happened to him that happened to Hannah: he was drowning and he was suicidal but no one noticed. Then, they blamed themselves for not noticing and spent so much time on what could've happened had they helped Hannah that they didn't realize Alex needed help. As the show goes on, he grows to be more distant and broken, but no one pays any attention to it. Then, the same thing happens to him as what happened to Hannah. It's such a beautiful and realistic depiction of our society.

Just watching these videos over and some of the episodes in the series you start noticing the signs that Alex was showing to fucking everyone. We were all so busy focusing on Hannah and seeing that when she was crying for help no one came for her, but when Alex showed his no one noticed. No one gave a fuck. and they wonder why he shot himself. Love this series.

What if Alex started making tapes just like Hannah because he was so suicidal. Season 2 could be Alex's tapes and the cliffhangers at the end of season 1. This is just a theory, I know I'm probably wrong.

I love him so much. It's relatable. His character is just relatable. You're taken as the happy one who pushes everyone else up. What they don't notice is that you are being pushed down farther and farther every time they're being pushed up by you. Stuck in this hell trying to pull your self up. But they still treat you as the happy one. Even though you may be showing signs and calling out from depression.

guys, it shows that he is suicidal but its obliviously is wasnt him in the ambulance. it was someone else with brown ish hair, Tyler and Justin was the two people who only had guns on them.

Alex was/is my absolute favorite character from the entire show. When they announced that he shot himself, i cried so hard i was scared my mom was going to wake up. I just started season 2 tonight and i cried happy tears when he was back on screen.

I relate so much with him and it makes me cry so fucking hard. I was thinking about suicide and 13 reasons why me see what happen happens to people even if they don't know me that well. And Alex was so obviously not okay but was pushed to the side because it focuses more on clay and the tapes of the past and not how people feel now. Focuses on a law suit and not how they feel right now
