Great video, Anton. It's hard to believe that these are becoming the oldest buses in London. Our oldest buses in Dublin are remaining ALX400s from 2006, which are being phased out gradually at the moment. Our oldest Enviro 400s (Volvo B9TLs) are from 2007 (EV1-50), and 2008 (EV51-100). A number of brand new Enviro 400ERs have gone into service on four routes I'm recent weeks, but a number of them have strayed on to other routes, and these have replaced a number of the ALX400s with more to follow in the near future. I have always liked the older Enviro 400s, and have yet to travel on the ERs. The only complaints about the older ones are the bucket seats downstairs at the back, but are tolerable. Space between the front facing seats over the wheelarches, and the seats in front is terrible. I'm 5 foot 9, but if I end up in one of those seats, the bars from the seats in front dog into me.

Hey Anton! The comfy seats I call the “Pillow seats” because they are thick, but the uncomfortable ones I call the “Carpet seats” because it feels like a carpet on plastic. Lol

In my town, we have a few Enviro 400s (well Enviro400 bodies on Trident 2 chassis),l but Plaxton bodied darts are dominant here (as well as Enviro 200s and Tridents)

Much prefer the glazed window envrios than the older versions. Look so much better.

Don't worry Anton. You're not the only with the legroom problem, Whilst an Enviro 400 doesn't seem to bother me. I can't even get my legs in straight at the top front of a Gemini 2. And get this, although they stopped producing the classic ones in 2018, the 400 is actually OLDER then the Gemini, entering production in 2005, with the Gemini 2 not starting until 2009.

Lol you said the 75 buses were “non-hybrid” while it literally has a “hybrid cleaner air for London” sticker on it! 😂😂😂😂 it’s a SmartHybrid bus which is basically a Mild Hybrid with extra “smart” features! They’re quite nice buses to ride on I won’t lie, they’re quite fast and occasionally I have been on one and they Rev quite nicely like on the 25 at Ilford at one point the bus just started revving before the traffic lights changed! It was very nice!

Great video Anton and a nice tour of an older Enviro 400. I do like Enviro 400s but personally I'm not the biggest fan of the post-2010 E400s. I prefer the Enviro 400s made pre-2010 but that's just my opinion. Anyway great video and keep up the good work

Great Video, talking of Enviro 400’s , do you remember bus ( SN12 AOW ) or ( BL61 ADZ ) or were they not from your Depot??? As they were from a company in London not going to name , but they have been transferred to Go-South coast in Poole ! One of them was a Volvo and the other was a Enviro 400 .

Enviro 400 Dyson

First time I came across those 400’s was on the 43 and 271 routs out of Holloway, they had destination blind handles in the cab, even today, find them cramp, issue with no bell if leaning over from the rear lower deck seats a little irritating, some of those 400 have suspension problems.

For a lot of drivers who complain, you’re always cheerful. But up north we don’t have people leaving drink and stuff on buses, not all the time anyway lool

The Enviro's in my area are pretty good but starting to show their age but they are pretty nippy when they get going

its a shame that a lot of the older buses are now going, enviro 400s don’t even feel that old

the 06/56 plates Anton would of been the last of the old school Dennis Tridents with the 8.9l 6Cyl Cummins ISC225/260 Engines and would of been Euro 3 with a special Euro 6 exhaust kit..... Stagecoach South have a ton of them in daily service. alot quicker than the MMCs and a damn sight more dependable in harsher traffic/weathers.

Hi anton! Just wondering why you don't ever show the fleet code or full plate of your bus? Many other bus driver youtubers i watch are allowed to show these things so i dont see why you cant.

The enviro 400 we have are 2007/08 in Dublin bus and they absolutely stink.... The latest ones are Hybrid, 2021 we started getting them. Cost around €450k and they got 3 Hydrogen powered ones to test out paying €800k each..... Also the EV class as we have they are so loud, engine noise is terrible inside. They were absolute rockets to go when we got them 1st

I should think it’s probably got about a year left before it gets moved out of London . Most buses where I work are ex London as they keep putting new rules in for London.
