i can only “brake boost” launch control doesn’t work for me it doesn’t pop up. if i floor the pedal it does a burnout.

Did not use Launch Control during the breakin period. To increase vehicle stability, activate DSC again as soon as possible. An experienced driver may be able to achieve better acceleration values in DSC OFF mode. Requirements Launch Control is available when the engine is warmed up, that is, after uninterrupted driving of at least 6 miles/10 km. To start with Launch Control do not steer the steering wheel. Start with launch control While the engine is running: 1. Press button or select with the Driving Dynamics Control Sport+. TRACTION is displayed in the instrument cluster and the indicator lamp for DSC OFF lights up. 2. Engage gear S. 3. With the left foot, forcefully press down on the brake. 4. You dont "need" it. but it always comes in one package. BMW will put on both, or turn off both. In other words, if you dont have sport+ you definitly dont have LC. i had a rental 116i that had Sport+ my own f30 320i high executive does not. its an option you had to pick from the dealer, not sure which exactly. Either way, its possible to get it activated. it costs about 50 bucks for someone with the right tools to set it up. Sport+ and Launch control can both be activated. Its also possible to XHP flash your automatic gear box, which is a seperate thing. it makes you go through gears in a sportier way (when in sport or sport+) but since yours is a rental, i'd assume they wouldnt like if you did that :')

Just hold left brake down hard with left foot and then smash gas pedal all the way to the floor and keep it there. U feel a button depress under accellerator. You then see checkered flash on dash amd the words “ launch control activated.“. U then have three seconds to let go of the brake. Then just hold gas to the floor. It does the rest. Do it 1-3 times and you will see it is super easy. It bangs off redline in each gear all the way to like 80 mph. Really fun.

short answer is yes. especially in turbo charged applications. allows the turbo to spool up and produce usable boost at launch as opposed to very little or no boost when you start from idle.

@@motormusic1 are you talking about what it revs at launch control, or what the redline is at, if ur saying why does it redline at 4K. Diesel engines just don’t rev high ever. Any gigantic diesel truck, to a tiny little 1.0l diesel in like a golf. The reason being is that diesels make there power and torque waaay lower then a petrol engine. My cars peak torque is 5200 rpm and peak power is 6600 rpm, were as peak torque in a diesel could be like 2k rpm and peak power is like 3500 rpm. The fuel is much more efficiently burned, plus the super high compression of the engine, causes the low revs.

Driver Mod Garage oh! I was trying to do it today but I got scared didn’t wana mess up the brakes or something. So I hold the brake hard. Then I press on the accelerator hard as well. As soon as I see the flag let go of the brake and continue to floor it correct ? Lol

Willie Gonzalez let it get to above 2000rpm before you let off brakes. I usually launch it when it gets to 2600rpm and it’s perfect

You only have launch control if your car has the shifters on the steering and Sport plus mode. Check if the gear says S1 when you’re launching, otherwise it may not work.

@@hayden3913 No, before you let go of the brake and mash the gas pedal you have to wait for the turbos to spool up as you’re about to launch it. It’s better to do this to get the best time possible

Davey Daves Lol no car with launch control will hit 7000rpm, that’s just too much load on the transmission and will probably really shorten the life span of it .Cars that come with launch control will come with a rpm limiter that it’ll stop at regardless of how long/much you press on the accelerator, its usually at 3500 rpm , sportier cars will allow you to customize the rev limiter to allow for the best launch

@@jordandorsey4819 enter the N54 335 a guy I know has. He launches at 6500 most of the time. Also, 034 Motorsport (tuner) goes up to aroud 6k iirc for the supercharged B8 and B8.5 S4 as well as other SC models.
