@@Traten65also, if you read some of the shadowbringers side stories, it really puts it into perspective: everyone on the 8th umbral calamity timeline had no idea what will happen once they alter the future and send him and the crystal tower away. they have no idea if their timeline and their lived are just going to be erased, because they aren’t sure about the effects of time travel, and yet they’re willing to sacrifice that to save another timeline. G’raha had to bear the burden of potentially sacrificing everyone he knew in that timeline and erasing all they did to save another timeline, and while he can probably assume they didn’t all get erased since he wasn’t after averting the calamity, he still has to bear the thought of that world without the crystal tower (as he would be unaware that Midgardsormr awakened immediately after he left)

​@@pipeisreal I have a more sinister take about the 8th UC ironworks. It's good of them to be okay with being sacrificed. But what about other people who're against the project? Or worse, those who live outside of eorzea, who probably don't get hit that hard by the black rose and don't even know about the project. Or those who choose to "forge ahead" and continued on with their lives, however shitty it is. The ironworks decided to gamble those people's very existence without any consent.

Pretty sure it wasnt a nameless soldier. It was Otis(I believe thats his name). You can tell from the voice after she dies as its his voice. He failed to save her, just like the robot Otis says.

@@mewpleOtis “died” when his soul was extracted for the Endless experiments. He stated he was an old man before extraction, can’t really be in the field.

@@dracomeister7684 Otis died after the princess did when they were doing experiments testing to see if they could even create the endless. This was after Sphene died. Otis gave his life so they could perfect the process and save Sphene.

@@dracomeister7684 As @mewple said, Otis died much later after princess died, and I'm sure from his voice, both Eng/JP, that was him. He was still alive at the time Sphene death, and later choose to sacrifice himself for experiment.

Right up through 4.0 the final zones and dungeons were never really that impressive. But ever since Shadowbringers, they've just knocked every final zone out of the park.

Nope, the leak came from an Nvidia leak which leaked many games not only from Square Enix including Kingdom Hearts 4 before it was announced. The Epic Games store also had an update recently that accidentally leaked a preorder bonus for Tetra master cards and a dagger set which isn't in the original FF9, so a remake is basically confirmed. Dawntrail is just another love letter to FF9, there's been a lot recently. Steiner and Vivi were in the Chocobo racing game along with an Alexandria stage, they announced a Final Fantasy 9 Animated Series which we have not received a trailer for yet, and Cloud and Tifa got FF9 costumes in Ever Crisis. I feel like there's more FF9 stuff that's happened recently, but yeah buckle up an FF9 remake is definitely on the way.

I think even the motif in this one and associated with Alexandria is prolly best one we got yet since Ishgard's motifs cuz it just beats so hard u get goosebumps whenever u hear it even if its used too often

Garnet would surely know how to educate her children and other descendants better than this. I'd much rather take the whole Alexandria drama in XIV for what it truly is - not canon (in FF9)

None of the easter egg/cameo/allusions in XIV are specifically from those games. This isn't the Alexandria from IX, just a reference.

It was likely an Ascian plot. Like how it was Elidibus' idea to kill Igyorhm and unleash the flood of light after tilting the world's aetheric balance wayy over into light.

Despite being named Alexandria, it is definitely more of a Zanarkand reference.

I think it mention that it need life force to sustain them, normal aether won't work. SO Dynamis which is energy of emotion while can influence the life itself, it's not exactly a life force so I don't think it'd work. But that's just me.

It's a form of energy only Meteion could use anytime she wanted. The WoL can only use it during Limit Break 3. Other than that, there has been no instance of use using Dynamis or manipulating it by simple will.

The main problem wasn't even the energy source, the point was holding on to memories is not good and you need to let go.

@@leighg9o Disagree, he's definitely noticeably better at orchestral stuff but not that significantly, FF14 has such a unique soundtrack BECAUSE Soken (and his team, don't forget, it's not just him who composes, idk if this song is even him tbh) is always consistently atleast good at pretty much any genre they try, and they're not afraid of trying it. It's just a bit reductive to pin it all on 1 guy and say that he's bad at song genres that you're probably just not a fan of. Personal preference =/= objective quality.

It baffles me that people can't control themselves and get mad at people sharing things that, quite frankly, they have every right to share. I got through DT with no spoilers because I didn't spend all my time on KZfaq/reddit tempting the algorithm to give me something I didn't want to see. It's my sincerest hope that the social justice warriors coming to the comments get spoiled in shout chat lol
