"Alexandrov's Song" - Tribute to the Red Army Choir

In memory of the Alexandrov Ensemble (also known as Red Army Choir) who died in a plane crash on December 25th 2016. This song is from their last concert at the Bolshoi Theatre.
The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army was founded in 1928 as the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Red Army and later two times awarded with the Order of the Red Banner (1935, 1949?) and one time with the Order of the Red Star (1949?). During WW2 the Ensemble gave more than 1500 concerts on the Eastern Front.

It was a great tragedy for world music, but today the ensemble sings as powerful as it always was.

I thank you very much for this video -- a dedication to an extraordinary ensemble, and the 92 members whose lives were sadly lost, six years ago. The voices of these great musicians are rich and resonant, and I'm forever enamoured with the many songs they have played -- whether proud and victorious, or dear and tender. I also liked the compilation, at the end, of vocalists and performances by the ensemble. A very nice touch -- Спасибо!

I loved this chorus and I was very very sad for the accident. It was a pain in my heart. May you can interview some of the new ones. May a diary life been military and singer in this famous and loved chorus. Thank you.

Glory to Russia, always!!! We remember with gratitude our joint sacrifice during our own Great Patriotic Wars. The whole of Europe is grateful to the victorious Russian rifleman, tanker, airman and Sailor.

All this gilding on their ceremonial uniforms and cockades with a double-headed eagle on their caps does not correspond to the uniform of the Red Army! The uniform, which is depicted in several photos, was not worn by Soviet (Red Army) soldiers. The double-headed eagle is a symbol of the Russian Empire and the White Army. The last photo was poorly chosen. The mimicry of some in the choir is comical. If the video is named as the Official Song of the RED ARMY, then the photos should be with soldiers of the Red Army, and not the Russian Army, which has the symbols of the Russian Empire and the White Army - the enemy of the Red Army.

As you should know, the Alexandrov Ensemble was at first the Ensemble of the RED ARMY and later that of the SOVIET ARMY. Since 1991/92, after the dissolution of the USSR and therefore also of its armed forces, the Ensemble is that of the RUSSIAN ARMY and under the supreme command of the MoD of Russia. Get your facts right before yelling them out. Otherwise you will get banned from my channel. The thing I despise the most is idiocy. And mocking professional artists about their mimics while singing (a hard work) is a poor and rude behaviour.

@@blinmaster1945 Do not tell me, a citizen of Russia and a reserve soldier, well-known facts about the history of my country. I know more about the Alexandrov Ensemble than you do. Idiocy is just about you. First you write in a pinned comment "Suggestions for improving my videos are very welcome!", then you receive critical comments and suggestions about the photos in the video and immediately lose your temper and threaten to ban. How scary!😆Ridiculous and pathetic behavior. Write that only laudatory comments are welcome🤐🥰
