I'm so glad I watched this video. Coming from the journalism world, I've specialized in excellent content writing, but mastering copywriting (even though I understand it in theory) has been a tremendous pain point for me because I now realize that I've been thinking more like a content writer. Seeing them compared like this really helped to put me at ease about making the transition. Thank you.

Though they might feel similar, there are huge difference between the two. If you can't figure out which one you want to do, start off by practicing both art forms and see which one suits your writing style best.

Wow! I love this explanation! Short, concise and to the point. I'm a content writer at heart, and have had a hard time wrapping my head around the art of copywriting. It doesn't help that I'm from Sweden, where none of the usual business strategies you see on KZfaq really work. 😉 I always have to "translate" every advice to Swedish circumstances before using them. But this was very easy to get a grip on and to use in my own way of thinking. Thank you!

Interesting perspective. Ive always seen 'content' as the overarching umbrella...then you can segment further by 'types of content' Ie: Sales 'content' (sales letter, ads, vsl, advertorial) ; Engagement 'content' (videos, blog post, podcast, infographics, native)

I was in a serch for high income skills and this is the best.. But i dont know whats actualy copy writing then i started learning.. Right from yesterday.. I heared about copy writing from siguard vedal and decided to get into it by dan vic's youtube video and continueing learning from your videos.. Teach me to became a good copy righter.. I see the distinction, but it seems like being able to do both is a very useful skill too. I mean you are creating content -about- copywriting, so clearly it's possible to do both successfully. I think content writing comes more naturally to me, I'm a fiction writer first and foremost, but I'm going to teach myself this skill, even if it doesn't come naturally.

This is very helpful. I was always confused and didn't even know if there was a difference. Would be good to see an example of copy and content side by side so I know what they are both like as a piece of writing.
