Giannis Antetokounmpo is having yet another MVP caliber season for the Milwaukee Bucks. After the Damian Lillard trade, the Bucks had to go through an adjustment period just like any team that makes a big-time trade like that. But it's clear that, at least offensively, it's paid dividends to Giannis Antetokounmpo and allowed him to have what I would consider to be the best offensive season of his entire career.
Giannis has always been a good passer "for his position", but this season, we've seen him take his playmaking talent to the next level by diversifying his playmaking bag, showcasing that he can find guys like Malik Beasley and Khris Middleton for easy corner threes, but he's got much more than just that.
With how much attention he demands as a scorer, and with Damian Lillard being able to alleviate some of the pressure on him, Giannis evolved into an even better playmaker than he's ever been. And it's scary. Now that the bucks have hired Doc Rivers, they're going all in for another title run, and with Giannis playing like this, anything is possible.

Absolutely. There are 4 amazing MVP candidates this season, but Giannis is on a different level to the other three when it comes to the defensive side of the ball. When you put that in context of his best offensive season as explained in the video, alongside holding the 2nd seed in the East, he has to be my pick.

No, because people expected much more from this Milwaukee team in beggining of the season, everyone was saying that Giannis and Lillard would be easily the most deadly duo in the league and simply 80% of regular season is done and I didn't see it. Milwaukee should've been easily the best team in eastern conference and they are fighting for 3rd spot. I mean... If they didn't make any changes and Holiday was in that team, probably he would be 2nd after Jokic, but adding another all star player and seeing how they aren't soo good like people thought... It truly hurts his case. But yeah, I agree, individually for me, this was hia greatest regular season of hia career.

The best version of giannis. The most efficient 31 ppg ever, elite defense, elite playmaking and not not even considered for mvp. Getting the lebron treatment but with lebron at least everybody knew he was the best in the league. Giannis underappreciated as hell. The gap between giannis‘ and jokic‘s playmaking is smaller than between their defense and scoring.

People love saying stuff like this without realizing how great of a scorer and defender Jokic actually is. People forget that he has averaged 27.5 points on 61% TS in the playoffs for his career which is worse than Giannis for his. They also don’t consider the tier of passer Jokic is. Jokic has been put in conversations with the all time greats like LeBron, Nash, or Magic. Giannis for as great as a playmaker he has become is not in that conversation which is fine he’s still an all time great but the gap in their play making is much larger than people think at least for now.

@@vfgoditachyyy8446 I bring up the post season because that’s when Jokic becomes a scorer. If Jokic wanted to he could probably closer to 28 points but he doesn’t because he wants to pace himself and for him that’s not nearly as rewarding as being a playmaker. The playoffs have demonstrated the extra level he can reach as a scorer and what it shows is that Jokic is one of the most versatile three level scorers ever at his position while making ridiculous tough shots on high efficiency. Giannis this season is also top 5 in usage percentage while Jokic isn’t even top 20. Some pretty important context when you want to argue that there is a gap between Giannis as a scorer and a small gap as a playmaker.

Jokic literally has now flaw in his game, and when it comes down to it he’s able to get in those tough buckets. Is he an elite defender? No but he’s a good one due to his high IQ with simple positioning and reading the teams offense

Best player in the league, having the best year of his career and somehow he's under the radar. We've never seen a player average 30+ shooting 60%. Not even Wilt or Shaq did that! Clearly Giannis plays elite defense too. He's the best two-way player.

Respect to Alex for looking at his initial Giannis video and recognising that he’s capable of making something even better. There’s both low and high quality NBA content here on KZfaq and I’m glad to have found a channel that contributes to the latter (especially when it’s covering my favourite player in the league). I’m sure we’ll be seeing another video dedicated to Giannis/Dame as we get closer to the playoffs. I really think Milwaukee might go all the way this year!

Giannis has been truly phenomenal this season and the recent surge in Giannis Dame pick and roll and allowing Giannis to play out of that is making me think the Bucks will be the ones to make it out of the East and not the Celtics despite the Bucks still having there defense shortcomings

@@thediamond322 he still defenda well enough to be possitive defender to his team. He is leading the league in defensive +/- last 4 years. Do you know other player who led the league in defensive +/- 4 years in a row?? It never happened I think. In 2022 he was also tied with Tatum who were the best players in defensive winshares. So no matter how we look, Denver are much worse defensive team when Jokic is out and that was the case last 4 years. And it makes sense because he is really good stealer, especialy for a guy who is center, in past years he had multiple winning - block shots and simply he doesn't play always defense, but he knows to play defense when it's most important

Giannas is having the best season of his career, carrying the bucks to the 2nd seed while all this commotion is going on this season, still averaging 30 on 61% with 12 boards and damn near 7 assists. Nobody in NBA history has averaged 30 with 61% FG, double-digit rebounds, and is a phenomenal defender. His midrange has gotten better, although people call him “run and dunk man.” He just uses layups most of the time instead of dunking. He's the second best when it comes to 4th quarter ppg averaging 8, but people/media are just bored of Giannis now and hot take but I don't see giannis is never going to get another mvp again similar to what happen to prime lebron.

It'll probably come down to the wire. As of now: Tatum is the weakest of the top5. Luka as the worst record. Both are out. Both SGA and Jokic have a very good case, but Giannises is better. He is my MVP right now.

I don’t like this version of Giannis. Even after repeated playoff defeats at the hands of savvy defensive teams like the Heat and Raptors, he still hasn’t realised that what works during the regular season isn’t going to work against teams that have prepped to contain him. He seems to have forgotten that what turned the tide against the Suns in 2021 wasn’t him scoring, but him spending time at center, locking down on defence, attacking mismatches and trusting Holiday and Middleton to initiate offense. Dame was supposed to free him from the burden of having to handle the ball and put up big numbers. Instead he has behaved like he’s threatened by Dame’s presence, demanding the ball, aggressively hunting his shot, as if he’s trying to prove he’s the alpha on the team. It’s the first time I’ve watched him play and felt he was selfish.

i think he is just trying to win in the regular season, the bucks sucked to start the year until he took over, now dame is regressing back to the norm, if the coaching is at all competent(big if but they have improved on defense) they will adjust his role once the postseason comes around.

In the playoffs , coaches don’t know what’s really gonna happen between these teams , dame initiates offense, and we become defensive minded with Middleton coming off the bench. Giannis moved to center , Portis moved to PF and Beasley with major rotations with Crowder and PAT Bev
