Lol, funny when you talked about ISTP most likely not to feel the need for marriage and then like "oh there is an SFJ, okey then maybe I'll just marry them". My sister is ESFJ and her partner since 7 years is ISTP. So at least he found someone but my family is really wondering when the hell they will get married. Like they hope that my sister gets what she deserves and wants. Well.. sucks, cause he is ISTP and you just confirmed all stereotypes are true!

All the INTP things said are true of me at different points. That child Si can hoard to no purpose, especially in a loop where finding an organization for it engages Ti.

The mandatory association between ISTPs and car-tinkery is puzzling. I really think it has much to do with Fe-valuing motorized, noisy vehicles in car-centric America. I personally can't think of many things more boring than fixing my car. Or more boringly annoying than a car. A motorcycle maybe? Now, actually learning to drive said car in a sporty way on a racing track, where it wouldn't bother anyone? Sure! That's what makes Ti-Se get into flow : actually using the tools, obtaining mastery over them through a combination of intellect and physical iterations. Best job I ever had was chainsawing my way through storm-tangled woods. The thrill, the technicality and physicality of it, endless tactical problem solving, lots of attention directed to the external natural world, just enough need for Ni for me to feel smart without getting overwhelmed by it, and between my hands a thing that could kill me (or more realistically kill my colleages) in an instant. That demands focus. Love it. Maintening the damned thing after a day's work, on the other hand? Always hated it. Just rambling on a old video, sorry ^^ I feel like Ti with Se-Ni is too often described through "contingencies", incidental cosmetics if you will, instead of its most purified, reduced down form, a formula applicable to almost any activity. Had to get it out. Feel better.

I'm an INTJ and have always done my own car maintenance. For me it's a mental thing. I need to get out of my head, and do tactile things to feel human. While in my head I can plan it all out. My logic is, that if you have the ability, why would you trust someone who cares about your stuff less than you do? They may have the experience, and tooling, but there is a since of independence, and accomplishment in honing a skill. It's all just nuts, and bolts. In the time it takes to send the car off, I can usually have it done. I purchased a Corvette with a bent connecting rod, and did a complete engine rebuild in a couple of weeks. It was a royal PITA, but glad I did it. An ISTP would likely be more natural at using tools. I'm better at being systematic in approaching these things, vs inherently knowing what to do.

@@qua7771 Hey, that's great, all the power to you! It's as if there were an infinite number of mental paths potentially leading any type to the same activities. Maybe having Ni so high up and Se low helps getting and staying involved in such a long project without feeling overwhelmed in advance by all the technical Se-difficulties down the road? Personaly I find it really hard to get into a handsy technical field if I can't get a preliminary "sandbox" situation where I'm allowed to tests all the limits of the system and the related tools at my own pace and with no consequence (I'd love to get to tinker with a few dead cars alone in a well equiped mechanics' workshop, for instance). Not just nuts and bolts unfortunaltly, at least since a few decades, here. Lots of electronics also, even on my old car from 2000. And of course, here, having even the slightest problem with it (like a light staying on on the control board) make using you car a crime, so yeah, even with all the mechanical skills in the world, we'd still need to bring our cars to a professional in the end (or replace the car altogether because most professionals are not up to date with electronics). Car gets controlled every two years to renew driving rights, and those guys see everythiiiiiiing. Eat this government, rant over. Tell you what, if you ever come to (very) rural france and want to feel human, I'll let you check my car while I delight you with some metal serenade or something. Have a great one.

@@graeschnahmoffski5716 That was deep, and thanks for the friendly invite. Cars, among other things, are being designed with a service life, and intentionally not to be repaired. That's a shame. I have older vehicles, and dread the thought of purchasing a late model for that reason. Things are designed with early disposal in mind, which is consumption driven. That offends the INTJ since of efficiency indeed. It's certainly not something we, as consumers have chosen. We are simply left without many options in terms of repairable goods.

@@qua7771 Old cars are the best! Until you crash in it (rigid bodywork) or start to care too much about pollution and noise levels, I guess. But even that can be greatly improved without resorting to electronics and planned obsolescence. Anyways, I share your dread. I wonder if Ne-folks might tolerate the thought (of having to constantly upgrade everything, and pay for it until death or the end of economic ultra-liberalism frees them from consumerism), seing it as a chance to try something new instead of getting Ni-triggered by the constant threat to and inescapable destruction of their perfect system/equilibrium that should, at the very least, last forever. Must be nice. They probably get triggered by it too, unless they are already swimming in money, but I don't know, generally speaking, having Ne-preferences seems so… whatever the opposite of a constant brain-cramp is called ^^ Ne-people, tell us!

@@graeschnahmoffski5716 As an INTJ, I don't know what triggered is. Emotion is not in my wheelhouse. My Ni is tied to Te. Nonetheless I found some humor in your comment. There was a time when I believed in politics, but now I think it is a circus act ran by elitist. Common people aren't running the show. We just get blamed for everything. If factories. or the military pollutes, then they'll say it's our fault. We didn't design the damn things. We have zero say in how budgets get spent, or any other decision for that matter.

ALso, I'm ISFP and the type of ISFP friends you have in your life is way different than me :P I'm not "cool" or musical enough to be in a band and have a tattoo sleeve or do drugs. I'm curious to try yes, but more inclined to read books. I guess it's Ne blind spot or that I favor my Ni over Se sometimes?

Hmmm. I'm an INTJ guitar player, (not professionally). I don't think people play to be "cool" but sometimes people perceive it that way. It's more an Se thing. I can't comment on drug use, because I really don't understand it, but I assume it's an emotional thing. Thinkers like to be able to think.

ENFJ: most likely to absolutely savage a bully when others get bullied. Most likely to lecture you about littering. Most likely to tell you about their world changing mission. Most likely to try to fix broken people. Most likely to cry during a movie full of injustice. Most likely to be a martyr. Most likely to seem like a chameleon. Most likely to write really long and in-depth texts or comments 😂

@@qua7771 boundary issues can be common in young ENXJ’s due to their drive being higher than other types to connect with people. But not an issue in mature people of these types, because we learn that not all people have good intentions nor are worthy of our time and care.
@qua7771
@qua7771 7 ай бұрын
@@moonsharn It's probably the more independent types that are likely to fins unsolicited help intrusive. Secondly, what is considered benevolent is subjective. I'll agree with the maturity factor, but it's only one factor. there are also matters of perspective. I'm more stoic, and would rather people mind their business, and leave well enough alone. As INTJ, I have a tenancy to cut ghost, and potentially cut people out permanently if I feel boundaries are repeatedly crossed. Doing so is a bit disheartening, but rational.
@moonsharn
@moonsharn 7 ай бұрын
@@qua7771 yeah your type is isolationist, have a strong self identity and values based on your own internal world. Whereas my type and the ESFJ’s are altruists, or tribalist’s. We start out life pretty much entirely shaped and guided by the external world, those around us. It takes work and maturity to develop an understanding of self or construction of personal identity and separation from others. So in those respects, our personality is much different to yours. As we mature ESFJ and ENFJ diverge in characteristics quite significantly. ESFJ becomes more focused into the Si framework and incorporates Ti, and enfj develops a sense of self through Ni-Ti paradigms and projects that into future focus. ENFJ look stuck in their own heads and more distant, like a thinking type. The mind is constantly focused on the broader societal issues and attempting to problem solve those, rather than being particularly focused on the individuals in the room and their (insignificant) issues. People see mature ENFJ’s as more abrasive and more unusual than ESFJ’s. We become the most introverted of the extroverted types. ESFJ fine tunes their presence and personal skills in the moment, becoming a person who is focused on the individuals and the dynamics within the room: does things for others: baking, providing, organising, mediating, selection of in group and out group members. They’re simultaneously both in service to the group and leading it using extroverted feeling, and can be quite in your face and in your business.
