Otherness hit me hard, without warning. I didn’t know what to expect but it very quickly became a part of my life and one of my favourite albums of all time… I truly felt you guys put so much energy into it and not care if it was a commercial success or not. Because it was for you, by you. 🙏

There's a reason why these guys are called the only band ever. This album is beautiful from beginning to end, it was an absolute masterpiece. I couldn't put in order the albums that I like the most about AOF, is just that feeling like if they were a different band in every one of them so listening to AOF in shuffle it feels like listening to a mix of a thousand prodigious bands. I love you guys.

Yeah I think Otherness is one of the best albums they have ever released. No pressure to be the band they were 15-20 years ago, just doing whatever they want and doing it brilliantly

George nailed it. I was watching Much Music when I was a kid in junior high and saw Pulmonary Archery super late at night on some 'New Music' show and was changed forever. It was the first time I ever heard screaming like that in music and I was so put off and so enthralled at the same time. I couldn't stop thinking about it and became hooked on the band and heavy music from that moment on.

'Otherness' is a masterpiece. I know that word is overused these days, but it truly is. Any time somebody asks me what my favourite song is, I struggle to come up with a definitive answer. Every song is great in its own right. Gave me chills listening to this album for the first time!

Even though Otherness is not my favorite album it truly has a more mature sound and this interview really shows where it comes from. It just adds to the likeliness of not only the album but the band as well. You guys are great and are a of friendship and musicianship. Long live Alexisonfire.

Perhaps it’s only me who feels like this but I feel like every member of the band has evolved into their own really specific person at this stage, who brings something so obviously them and that now pushes them into this other place, and clearly they listen to each other so much and there’s a harmony, perhaps; “oh Wade has this thing” where it’s just like ok what’s your vision Wade and let’s go with it. I fucking love this album, already it’s really special to me

This needs to be 3 hours long. This has been the most wonderful thing I've watched in a very very long time. Seeing the boys light up at so many different points in the video warmed my soul. I've heard of artists reflecting on their previous works after many years of playing together. One that comes to mind is Thrice. There's always been a pressure to make part two of "The Artist in the Ambulance" but we all that will never happen. Crisis is that album for me. It was my favourite album. It's a lot of people's favourite album. Even after being an Alexis fan since seeing Pulmonary Archery on a little 13" green see-through plastic tv in 2001 for the first time. But Otherness. It's perfect. Somehow you guys have done the impossible. You've outdone your legendary acts of work. And this documentary I got to learn how you somehow managed to surpass a 10/10. I'm just going to start referring to things as an "otherness out of ten" because that is now the true benchmark of excellence. Thank you for this. So very much.

Thrice will forever be the most crucial band of ny life. They were my introduction to faster and heavier punk with Identity Crisis and then metal influences in The Illusion of Safety when I was 14. Seen them 26 times and everytime I do, the warm feeling of my teen years and excitement comes back. I listen to far less post hardcore how. Alot of Death and Black Metal and a good amount of Tom Waits, folk and Jackson Browne stuff, but Thrice and Refused shaped my way of thinking about music.

otherness was amazing, blew me away with the expansion and experimentation of AOF. New elements of psych, shoegaze, and even some black metal esque distortion and atmosphere, mixed with the amazing sound that AOF already presented broke the fucking mold. amazing job lads and cheers to that.

This group of dudes is so important to me. For the past 20 years I have been faithfully absorbing everything they put out, playing these albums front to back and never have I gotten tired of their stuff. Quite literally the best song writing in the world, imo. Finally got to see them live in New Orleans last year, it all culminated and led up to that night, the best live performance I’ve ever seen and probably will ever see. Guys, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for existing.

It would have been fascinating to be a fly on the wall in the studio. When the world was stuck holding its breath and nobody knew where we were all headed. All the while, these dudes congregated from their corners of that world once more and focused their powers like some kind of megazord in secret to form an absurdly fine work of art. Just hearing them talk about the energy of that experience, it gives me a new-found appreciation for the album.

AOF was the first concert I ever went to. This was in like grade 10 high school. I was stoked to go see them on this recent tour. Made it out to the Detroit show. I got there wicked early and alone since my brother wasn't able to make it. Held an amazing spot just behind the floor so I had a good view above everyones head. The auditorium went black and after a minute or two of ambient noise the curtain dropped and the room flooded with light. ALRIGHT! THIS IS FROM OUR HEARTS! Drunks lovers sinners and saints opened the show and I found myself holding back tears. It was pure nostalgic emotion. I love this band for music and moments that make me feel alive.

These guys are the perfect recipe to a very intriguing sound that seems to roll a snowball of musical evolution that just works. Im excited to see where this goes next. Im sure behind the scenes money is king at the end of the day but you can truly see a passion in their hearts for music, creativity and art. And that alone is a rare and astounding thing in new music today. “Keep on rocking in the free world.”

The first time I heard Sweet Dreams…I had chills. I had never got it from any song from Crisis, or Old Crows…it was the chills I got from Watch Out. No disrespect to those other records, it just took me BACK, to seeing these guys as a kid at a YMCA in Burlington, and seeing these guys in a fresh new light. That to me is unbelievable. Not a lot of bands do that for me. I sincerely hope they keep making music.

I'd give that spot to the cardinals record. I think they took that only band ever shit a little too serious back then, this record is alright but it's old man music, not progressing rock and roll They shine on slow songs, but I think we all know why that is, Texas is the reason lol Switching out a humbucker guitar for a single coil strat wasnt the move... Wade plays beautiful axes but damn it took alot of depth out of the sound Still an amazing band, can't wait to see what's next though
