Many people say that defending is hard , i think it was just too overpowered in pes 21.Back then we just had to pressure and double pressure which was kind of boring and made us lazy while defending. There was no need of any skill or tactic while defending but this season its a reality check. Its difficult I agree but I really like it because i think we can test our defending skills and make it to another level .

If you analyze carefully you will see defenders getting out of position easily infront of the attacking player which doesn't happens in real life football..defenders must be careful and shouldn't get tricked easily but here in pes22 when u play against superstar difficulty,your defenders can't win the ball even in 1v2 situation. They don't press the opponent properly.

Defending is improved a lot than in pes21 but some improvement is needed to defend properly. I am playing with superstar difficulty, trying my best to defend but whenever i call a player for second pressure he is going here n there and not pressing properly.

The most shitty thing I find in Efootball defending is, you have to swipe up the pressure button to call for another player to press. Unlike PES21, we had the option to choose which player we wanna use for second man pressuring by swiping up, down, left or right. But in Efootball, you only have ONE OPTION which is swiping up. Sometimes shitty AI chooses one of my player who'll never be able to catch my opponents who are running with the ball. Konami introduced many defending skills which is good, but THEY DON'T HAVE TO MAKE HARD TO MAKE IT BETTER

Plus to many times my players run in front of them without tackling them or touching them like nobody's there. It's like they want us to jump into the game and defend by ourselves.

I have a question though. How does formation or play style (ie possession) affect ability to defend. I tend to feel opponents tend to be overpowered. Like I need two defenders to pressure a single opponent player, but if the reverse happens, I lose the ball whenever an opponent is near me. It feels incredibly frustrating!

Auto switching isn't working properly. Konami needs to fix it. Plus most of the times our defender can't follow the ball & *can't stay right in front of the opponent* & runs abruptly & gives space. This isn't realism. Plus ball shielding works in online matches but not against legendary COM matches. U can score 3, 4, 6, goals in legendary if there are good teams above 2000 strength but can't defend.

U guys are not talking about how bad the gameplay is and horrible defending, a lot of people are having the same kind of problem. My defenders with higher rating cannot tackle a player with 69 rating and again the cursor assist doesn't work which makes it very difficult to defend Konami please fix this or give us back pes 21

Bro I conceded 4 goals with legend difficultly but thankfully managed to score 5 this one time. The rest of the times I tend to concede 3 goals even in superstar difficultly 😭
