Your videos are great Albert, they're a fantastic way of celebrating how different climbers all have something exciting and novel to bring to the sport. As climbing goes to the Olympics and grows in popularity there'll always be that mentality of "who's the best, who's the best" coming in, but what I love about climbing is how different everyone is and how it's really the person against the problem or the wall. Your videos really show that well and are great to watch!

Yeah never been a climber but I lost my swimming career to a nasty shoulder injury that unfortunately likely never would have let me go back, especially to the level I was before. It changed me as a person and I've never felt the same again, no matter how many times I tried to get back into it even a little I just cant. Not being able to swim to any level close to before killed me. Props to this guy for succeeding afterwards.

Epic video and always relatable in so many ways to life. Hard work, creativity and beta break. 👈 Since everything in climbing is subjective, it’s like trying to define happiness or success? Climbing for me is a mechanism to problem solve myself so I am at peace within to deal with the chaos around me. Having started climbing at 46, now 52, it’s not about a grade, but skills learned that help me to continuously improve at my pace with a community of support. The reality is majority of recreational climbers, like myself, won’t get sponsored or endorsements-so why climb? Like the infamous saying in The Matrix: “because I choose to”. Or didn’t Warren Harding (climber) say something iconic at El Cap about “why”? These is no why. 🤷‍♂️😝

yea, i totally know how bad it is to get injured doing sports. my left shoulder will never be the same after that snowboarding accident and i struggle from time to time in regular life after straining it for a little bit too long. last summer was the worst one without a doubt. i was working at a building site and was pulling a hose which was used to fill poles with concrete. first day went by and resulted in bad pain in my shoulder, second day went past and little less than 2 hours before the day was over (12.5 hour days) did i have to tell the foreman that i can't keep doing this the last 2 hours and the day after that was the pain so bad that i was on strong pain medication and wasn't able to lift my hand over waste level when my arm was straight. luckily did i help some divers that day to pick up some poles which had fallen into the docks. so yea, a bad injury is nothing to just laugh off.

As a video essay, I feel like this video lacks focus. The intro is entertaining, but ultimately irrelevant to the rest of the video. The conclusion drawn, that you can start late and still be good, is not mentioned at all in the body of the video. By the time you mentioned it in the conclusion, I had forgotten that that's what the video was about. It feels like this video was just a showcase of how someone can static their way through dynamic boulders, which is completely fine, but the video is framed as something else.

@@AlbertOkay It's nothing personal, i just wanted to offer some (hopefully) constructive criticism, and ways to improve. I will still watch every beta break video you make, because climbing content is great.

How can you say he is learning late at age 17. At age 17 everything you do, you are learning.

Bouldering while 4-6 feet off the ground? Everyone is more dynamic. 30-50 feet, different story.

1:18 Ok the pronunciation at least matches the written name, but both are wrong. Pro tip: Just copy and paste it from wikipedia. ;)

Nice video, but your intros are always a bit weird. "This Basketballer has iconic finger wag. He started his career at an relatively old age. There are also climbers who started at an old age. But the guy we are talking about today is not one of them ..." Like, what?

Starting climbing in University then winning 3 years later is considered an old age for climbers. All the examples are top level athletes who started late and were successful. Sorry if it was confusing to you
