Hello, yes it was noisy. I bought the new version ar 55202772 which was modified in 2006 not to discharge oil when off. The engine runs good and you can notice the variator entering at 3k rpm, but the old one still worked, maybe not so well, but this is only an opinion! But now there's no diesel noise at all

Thanks ! I think my 1.8 TS engine has the newest variator, as it is a 2007 engine. And the diesel noise I hear is quite weak, actually. I guess I should first try to use a 10W60 oil, as you did on your 2.0 TS. I use 5W40 oils, but some say that 10W50 and 10W60 are better for TS engines because of the variator.

Yes, mine had it too. Alfa recommends 10w60 for a "sporty" use. Since i have a LPG system, temperatures are higher. 10w60 makes some HP losses but i think is better. I also have less oil consumption.

@@markoklarica7532 10w60 is a more viscous/"thicker" oil than 10w40. Because of this it won't go past valve stem seals and piston rings as easy, which will reduce the oil consumption. But because it is thicker, it gives more resistance for the engine, which will "very slightly" reduce efficiency of the engine, which in turn will be less HP. This is why new engines have thinner and thinner oil (lower numbers), but those engines are in turn also designed with the thin oil in mind, whereas the TS is not designed for anything lower than a 10W40.

I am going to put on mine Michelin pilot sport 4 Mine with 15 inch wheels 205 60 15 With kuhmo ecowing kh 27 But I have a set of teledial 5 holes wheels 16 inch and the Michelin 205 50 16 I used to have them on my 916 spider but too sporty for the spider very hard side wall make the car chake a lot so I changed to pirelli p7 more comfortable ride.

The old one was noisy but still working, so no important performance improvement; maybe it's easier to notice when it works (3000 rpm)

@@VideoNikus1 quest'auto mi è sempre piaciuta, ne ho presa una questa estate 1.8 berlina, rigorosamente prima serie. Va alla grande, apparte un certo consumo olio (ho però 5w40). Molto divertente e sveglia! Ma anche comoda nell'uso giornaliero

@@matto5240 Mi fa piacere, per l'olio sarebbe meglio un 10w, ma comunque il consumo d'olio è abbastanza normale fino a mezzo litro ogni 1500 più o meno, tieni conto che sono motori ormai vecchi e sicuramente qualche paraolio perde, come accade nel mio caso. Addirittura ho trovato che perdeva il condotto dell'astina olio, di cui ho sosituito l'o-ring

@@matto5240 Ho il motul, magari sul 1.8 metterei anche un buon 10 40, per evitare la spesa inutile.. io l'ho messo anche per le temperature del gpl e perchè il 2000 tende a problemi per via della corsa lunga

@@gabrielevecchio6391 sinceramente delle valvole non ho mai sentito nulla. Può trattarsi del variatore di fase? Io lo ho cambiato ma è considerabile ordinaria manutenzione.. Il problema noto è quello della lubrificazione, guarda il video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r5enerWg3c-uopc.html

Il 2.0 ts è a corsa lunga e soffre di sbronzinamenti, ha un po di km e quindi è meglio evitare. Preferirei anche io!
