3 time m3 owner here. Just bought a Guilia qv, very different to the na m cars. But it’s a joy..hugely fast , very comfortable but just razor sharp at the same time. My first Italian car, and loving it so far.

Why does everyone think the Alfa has to be the best, the Alfa has to be competitive which it is, it's up there with the best. Then when you consider a 2.9 v6 against a 4.0 v8 the Alfa is a much better engineering achievement. Long live Alfa Romeo!

The time and winner will depend on track configuration. Nurburgring Nordschleife is a good track for that purpose because its long and combines better different types of road surfaces and layouts which represent better real world performance. Other than that M3 would be faster on tracks with shorter straights because it could brake pretty good and has a lot of grip and it wont lose on the straight because they're short, Giulia would be faster on combined roads, medium straights and high speed corners, and AMG will only be faster on tracks with long straights.

I wonder where everyone complaining Alfas are unreliable get their information, because all Alfas since the GT/159 era have been fine, this has been proven in the Europe reliability score where Alfa Romeo scored the best out of any European brand in terms of reliability. Besides it been proven on numerous reviews that the STOCK giulia QV is faster than the M3 competition pack and is the better car to drive both daily and on the track. I'd take the Alfa over the bland Germans any day, gorgeous car.

I looked at and considered the Guilia Quadrafolio at one time but something will eventually break. The Merc is just plain ugly and a victim of mediocrity. I have a 2017 F80 M3 Competition pack and I'll take the build quality, performance and looks of it all day every day over the other two.

drove the Alfa and the BMW, got to agree the Alpha was best to drive but the gear box on the M3, better interior quality, rear folding seats (these are still meant to be practical cars at the end of the day) and price meant i got the M3.

It's worth pointing out that the M3 was the pre 2017 facelift model which was available at the time this year came out. It's been said a lot has changed in terms of overall manageability of the car.

So, there it is, the Alfa is not as good an an M3! The BMW is the more focused, connected car that demands the driver to be on his toes. That is what makes it so good and fun. I own a M4 and had a day of driving all audi S and RS cars (not the R8). And fuck how boring that was comparing to the hyper responsive and aggressive M4. You can say what you want about the Alfa or MB, but they can not compete whith the M3/M4 when it comes to responsiveness, gearbox, and foucus.

Not for nothing, but Alfa is so new that there is not much data on reliability...I'll take my BMW Z4 with Dinan install over them anytime.

Giulia can be an everyday car. M3 is not too comfortable. Plus to derive M3 performance you better be a race car caliber driver. Otherwise you are not seeing those speeds.

The alfa is a great car, but it took decades of studying the M3 for it to be competent, nomatter how good it maybe, it will never be like the M3, the M3 is the original idea of the track in this segment...

I love Mercedes and i love Alfa, and tbh no other car ever gave me the same feeling like when i had my Alfa 147 GTA..They feel special and the leather interior was amazing. And I have waited for along time for another special Alfa.. Definitely having the Quadrifoglio now and having a proper LSD fitted.. Both my 147GTA's had Q2 diffs fitted, transformed the car.

Their all great. Personally I'd like a car with the v8 engine from the merc. The dct transmission from the bmw. And the exoticness of the alpha.

How is the amg fastest in a straight when the alfa runs a 11.7sec or 11.9sec and bmw best quarter mile time matches the amg which is a 12 flat.. I've driven the alfa and own a m3 both very good cars only reason why I have m3 over the alfa is cause the bmw have a bigger aftermarket performance parts then the alfa which is alfas only downfall

1 sec on track is a lot. I have seen other track results showing the Alfa 2 seconds faster than the MB. M3 is also beaten by Alfa in many other track comparisons. Maybe a lousy racing car driver or the times taken at different tack conditions. They never tell you that. I still have to meet the first M3/4 that is faster than me on track in my QV . Well whatever both Germany and Italy lost WW 2 so maybe the Cadillac is the winner LMAO
