I’m on my second Alfa Romeo stelvio,had the other 4 years no problems,but like the presenter when driving the Alfa he was smiling 😊 and so do I every day I drive My Alfa Romeo !!❤ Audis are good cars,but don’t see the drivers smiling ❤

Sammy ... you are the person for a Tonale. My sisters friend just bought an Audi Q3 but i change too and you made me choose for Alfa.

Nice review, it appears Alfa Romeo is reaching all-time high levels of quality! offering five years warranties, plus according to source: Ron Rides KZfaq channel Alfa Romeo was ranked number one! in the US customer satisfaction reliability league tables luxury segment! The future is looking bright for this great marque!

Finally someone gets it! Well said about Tonale. "But I think of it more like a slightly older hot hatch where you just have to work them quite hard to get them to rev..." That is driving fun

US will not get the mild hybrid version this Brit is driving, which is a shame because it would distinguish the Tonale from the Dodge Hornet. (I am not interested in a plug-in, and would opt for a full petrol version, which produces basically the same power.)

We are waiting for the order books to open up on Direct Connection so we can order the GLH Hornet ! Only reason for buying the Hornet is the nearest Alfa dealer is 120 miles away so that makes servicing it a PITA !

Why compare the Tonale mild hybrid against the Audi Q3 diesel. Why not against the Q3 petrol which has similar bhp as the Tonale. Comparing petrol mild hybrid vs diesel makes no sense. It'd like comparing apples and oranges.

Hi Ian, unfortunately we couldn't get another Q3 in time for this shoot, but as you'll notice, Sam makes very little reference to the diesel engine. His comparison is centred around handling and practicality :)

£40k? It’s £10k too much. When I enquired with an Alfa Dealer, I was told I would be pleasantly surprised at the price. It’s priced the same as a Giulia. The one everyone wants, the 275hp PHEV will be too much money. Alfa is not competing with Audi or BMW, or even Volvo. It’s competing with Ford, VW, Seat, at £30k, it would sell huge numbers. £40k? Alfa Romeo reaching again.

40k for the Veloce trim, the highest trim level. In general the Tonale starts at 35k. And Alfa is set from ex FCA and now Stellantis as a premium brand, so its a Audi/BMW/MB competitor.

I’m an Alfa fan and still have one. I ordered a Q3. Why ? Try dealing with Alfa dealers even worse than Audi. In this sort of vehicle I need it to tow and work in that order. No one will buy one like all the recent Alfas. 😢

@@JD2ndcity Ha I have a BMW also. Reason is BMW,s of that size have poor towing capacity like my 3 series is only 1800kg vs 2200kg for the quattro q3.

@@JD2ndcity Im sure. I had an F Pace svr which had some towing ability but nothing thats Q3 size other than a Tiguan or Q3 does the job. Like the Stelvio especially the quad.

I’ve recently had a giulietta and a giulia and zero problems with either. 30k miles driven in the giulietta and 50k in the giulia.

What about reliability? One of the major downside of Alfa Romeo has always been high maintenance costs. I guess a German car is still more reliable than an Italian one?

That can be said with every car made !!! Cars are made by humans and we are prone to making mistakes and failure as well !!! With that being said our Jeep Renegade has been stellar over the 5 years of ownership the reason I say this is the chassis is a derivative of the Small Wide used on numerous Stellantis/FCA models. Now I have no idea about the 1.5l as here in the US it isn't available we have the 1.3l Turbo and the 2.4l which was discontinued for the 2023 model year, The 2.0l Turbo is pretty good it is used in the Wrangler and Cherokee and besides the Mild Hybrid issues on the Wrangler the engine itself has been quite good.

Why bring reliability up yet again alfa romeo are as reliable as any other car on this planet.its the owner of a car that's unreliable. By the way what makes you think audi and any German car are as there not read reliability reports

@@MichaelSmith-kr9qw I’m deciding which one to buy among these two, I would love to get the Tonale, it’s just that on average people I talked to seem to have more mechanical issues with Alfa than Audi. Also Audi has a longer history dealing with compact suv. Still unsure.. 🤔

Huh? Maintenance costs have “always been high” for Alfas? Says who? I had a 3 service Service Plan on my last Giulia which cost £399. And the Giulia is more reliable than it’s BMW counterparts.

Maybe it was the case until the 159 and the Giulietta. The Giulia and Stelvio seem to have little to complain about.
