It could be a nod to the monologue ewan mcgregor does at the start of Trainspotting. Not sure about the link to Wham or George Michael.

'choose life' was an anti drugs campaign in the 80s , it was meant to like choose life instead of drugs. In the video for 'wake me up' the whole band of Wham are wearing the t shirts. This video would explain why it is referenced in trainspotting kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hs2jmbl7sr2wYHk.html

Thanks so much! I wouldn't have guessed that. In the states it means you choose life over abortion, also a very good cause.
