This video took me a very long time to create almost double the work of any other video lol!!!😅 I agree about Hitchcock, I had my kids watch Saboteur 4K last night for their first Hitchcock they have ever seen & they enjoyed it & I am always trying to give my kids a healthy dose of great classic cinema so they grow up appreciating great films. I do wish they would have done this boxed sets in the order of Hitchcocks releases so that we had them all in order from beginning to end. But I understand they are wanting to attract a larger group of people with each of these 4K boxed sets so that’s why they release some black & white early films with later color films of Hitchcocks each time. I also wish they would release more than just 1 of these 4K box sets each year lol!!! I desperately want North by Northwest in 4K still too!

Sabotage is not an earlier version of Saboteur. It is a completely different story based on the Joseph Conrad book Secret Agent.

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia To Catch a Thief, North by Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), Notorious, Foreign Correspondent, The Lady Vanishes, Rebecca, Spellbound, Suspicion, and any other Hitchcock films they wish to release in 4K HDR!

@@iakona23 I like a lot of the films in your list there, I was just talking to another Subscriber about my favorite Hitchcock film North by Northwest, I love Cary Grant in that film. I hope we get another 5 films in the next Hitchcock collection so we can keep getting more of these films on 4K faster. I also wish they would release 2 of these boxed sets a year so we could get more of his films sooner in 4K lol!!! 😆 But that’s me being greedy for more good content on 4K lol!!!

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I agree with you on all of your comments. If you haven’t seen Notorious in a while, you might check out the Criterion blu-ray. It might be Hitchcock’s greatest artistic achievement. Claude Rains, Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman.

@@iakona23 I have seen Notorious recently I talked about how much I loved the Criterion Blu Ray in my Criterion Collection videos series. I think Notorious would look splendid on 4K UltraHD, just not sure if Criterion owns the rights to that specific 4K release. I wish Criterion would release more films like Notorious instead of sooooo many documentaries or music documentaries lol!!!! I have not been super excited or happy with the majority of Criterion’s 4K releases, there have been a few I liked but not a lot.

I have tons I love but my #1 personal favorite is North by Northwest with Cary Grant, it’s not Hitchcocks best film but I have seen it sooo many times while growing that it’s grown to become a very special place in my heart ❤️, I also love every James Stewart Hitchcock film. I really want North by Northwest in 4K UltraHD really bad lol!!!! What title are you still hoping gets released in 4K?

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I would have to say North by Northwest is also my #1 favorite Hitchcock film. Strangers on a Train 1951 is high on my 4k wish list. To Catch a Thief 1955, Dial M For Murder 1954 & Foreign Correspondent 1940 would be on my 4k list too. I do love all the James Stewart Hitchcock films except Rope. And Rear Window, Shadow of a Doubt & Saboteur are my others favorites already released.

Yah, I thought that might be the case with The Trouble With Harry because in some instances the original film can have an issue present, but even so I have still gotten dozens of varying opinions on all the different reasons that some of the varying image issues are present & everyone seems to have their own varying & different opinions lol!!! 😂 Marnie issue was more of the digital mastering issues in that train scene that they have never fixed & is still present on all Blu Ray & 4K editions. Sorry but you shouldn’t accuse me, because the set I reviewed matches my box & confirms these same results & the test data, but with that being said that’s not to say that any copies couldn’t have had things changed slightly, that’s a possibility. There was a couple other 4K releases & instances that I know of but specifically one that I ran into & know of that had a change in discs right before release date & that was The Outpost, they changed the discs they were sent out to retail in & region locked those 4K UltraHD discs after they sent out some of the review copies as originally region free. So when I review things I can only report correctly on what the set I have has on it. Also different countries use different size discs for the same sets, another example would be the Star Trek 4K sets there were several reported disc sizes used for those in different countries, so again I can only report on the exact set that I review. So this has happened a few other times as well & I have no control of if studios makes any slight changes in countries & to any retail copies later on. Sorry to say but these are the facts of the matter & I am simply not going to continue arguing on about them. But a good rule of thumb is to not accuse someone of something when you don’t clearly have or know all the facts. I believe we should always treat each other kindly. Hopefully this helps you understand that I always do the best I possibly can with the sets I get for review but that’s all I can do anything else is simply outside of my control. Thanks

@@ptasznjh That just gave you your answer & explains exactly what I was saying previously that the discs are or were originally intended & supposed to be BD100 as is printed on your case / box as well. I am not sure what country you are from but that doesn’t really matter because they printed on your box that it was supposed to be originally BD100 discs & looks like they changed something post or pre- production printing. But glad you figured it out & found that on your case, so now you know & see for yourself.

@@ptasznjh John, I am not sitting here doing nothing, I am in the middle of working hard on 2 different big reviews and your messages are very harsh & tense, all the while I have still tried to be as helpful, very understanding & considerate to you as I possibly can be by replying numerous times already. But I simply don’t have the box set anymore to go back and do everything that I already clearly went through & already did when testing it originally when I filmed this review. On top of that, that was the whole purpose of the work I already did & why I created this video in the first place with all the results to answer all these questions already. With that being said, I am NOT the company that releases these sets, but I think you should contact them about misleading information if your discs are not BD100 like what they are advertising on the back of your boxed set because that’s considered false advertising & false marketing & should be brought to their attention by consumers. They shouldn’t advertise something that they are not giving people by printing information on the outside of your box as & not providing what they are claiming on their box set that you have bought. To me it feels like the same thing as if a company advertises special features on the back of a box that are supposed to be on a set & then they are not actually present, it’s false information that’s being printed on the set then. @@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I'm mostly excited to see Marnie for the first time. I haven't seen any other of the movies from this set than Saboteur, but what you said about Marnie sounded really intruiging. To be honest i can't really pick any favorite from his filmography, but I love Psycho, The Birds, Rebecca and Rope.

I just had my kids watch Saboteur 4K for the first time tonight & they thought it was great too, I already liked it but I have been trying to share more of these great films with my kids so they grow up like I did with a healthy dose & appreciation of great classic cinema.

It seems way to many people nowadays don’t have a true appreciation for how great classic cinema is & simply won’t give anything other than big special effects blockbusters a chance & that’s just a shame.

@carmine menna The UK box set includes Norwegian subtitles and works out cheaper than buying the individual titles.

Lol!!!! 🤣,,,, I am not going to start down this rabbit hole again. I already answered a bunch of similar questions asking about why the back covers stated BD100 discs lol!!!! So to make it very brief & short, the studio gave false information on several different pressings of these sets & have numerous different things incorrectly printed on some of the boxes stating BD100 & BD66, along with some supposed disc changes in different countries & pressings too. So that’s a brief summary & without going into too much more about this, this has already been talked about & covered very extensively in some other comment streams here on my channel! Hope this gives you a brief explanation.

First off I didn’t fail to address anything lol!!! WOW 🤣, I touched on several of the issues I encountered through my testing on MARNIE in this video, you must not have actually watched this review otherwise you would have known about them already, including the screenshots I pulled showing some of the issues on the 4K UltraHD disc.

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia Yes, indeed... for the past 45 years... back in the day when you could not see Rear Window, Vertigo, The Trouble with Harry, Rope and The Man Who Knew Too Much (Jimmy Stewart) in theaters or on video as they belonged to Hitchcock and were not released by his estate until 1983.

@@robertmaki4105 that delay in release definitely added to their mystique, though.
